First of all, I want to preface this review by saying that my bridal party (myself and the groom included) were pretty out of control from the beginning of our reception until the after party ended at 4am - so we must not have been very easy to deal with.
AllStar provided our DJ, photobooth, and uplighting services at the Marriott in Quincy, MA. Our DJ, Josh Wiseman, was awesome - there was never a lull on the dancefloor, no awkward songs, and no cheesy line dances...he played all of our favorites and kept the party going strong until the very end. We never gave him any real instructions or a play/do-not-play list...we left our music in his hands and he did a fantastic job :)
Also, the uplights looked AMAZING and the photobooth was hoppin' all night long - we have a ton of hilarious pictures that we'll probably display more freely than our formals! Every service provided by this company exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend them!
I'm an award-winning wedding designer in my 10th year of business in two others state, neither of which is Massachusetts. I contacted AllStar for consulting on a situation in my own market. I researched them, read every word on their website and finally called them.
If you're wondering if the things on their website are really true, the answer is YES. If you're wondering if the products that they offer are better than most of their competitors and if that really makes a difference, the answer is YES.
I can't speak to how they interact with brides but I can tell you that their customer service to someone who had nothing to offer in return was patient, thorough and pleasant. So one can only imagine what they're like with paying clients.
Great customer service, the best of the industry in terms of products, the prices I saw were reasonable and applicable...what more could you ask for?

My husband and I hired AllStar Entertainment for DJ and uplighting services after some careful research in our wedding planning. The AllStar team was absolutley flawless. Our Dj, Todd DellaPorta, was professional, reliable, listened to our every wish, friendly on the mic, and kept EVERYONE on the dance floor all night. Knowing that the DJ you select can make or break your wedding, we were happy to see that we absolutley made the right decision. Outstanding! Our lighting technician, Andrea, was at our event all night to control lighting changes. The lighting changed beautifully according to the moment happening. Our wedding could not have been more prefect. My husband and I were totally at ease with these vendors. They walked us through every step of the preparation. Should we or any of our families need future DJ or uplighting services, Todd and Andrea from AllStar are our people. Many years of experience and expertise are apparent in the way this company runs it's business. I rate the AllStar team with 5 stars even though they actually deserve 10!

Ashley was our lighting tech and she also did a wonderful job, the room looked beautiful and she made changes to the colors that added to the feeling, but weren't at all distracting to our guests!

Bailey from Allstar Entertainment was a pleasure to talk to on the phone, and she did a magnificent job with the uplighting. The room was spectacular, the cake table and the sweetheart table were beautiful w/the lights and I never even saw her at work she was so stealthy. This review is LONG overdue. After researching, and meeting with, several vendors, we chose All Star Entertainment for our music and uplighting needs. Our initial meeting with Mike, the owner, was both pleasant and informative. From there, he was able to match us with DJ Greg Ryan. Greg far exceeded our expectations. He was enthusiastic, professional, and personable. When they say the music makes the night, it's true! Greg listened to what we wanted and delivered. I can't count the number of compliments we've received since the wedding. He also did a stellar job working with the events staff to make sure the night ran smoothly.

Mike was our lighting specialist for our wedding in December 2013. Initially I thought people were crazy for hiring a lighting specialist for events, but I met with All Star in May to see some of their work and they can truly transform a room. It is remarkable what a difference a few strategically placed lights can make. I am a firm believer now of the importance of lighting. Mike called us the week before the wedding to talk some specifics but we really left the decisions to him. Our venue looked gorgeous when we walked in, basked in a light blue glow. To our surprise and delight, he changed to a cream colored light for our first dance, and a pink hue for our parent dances. The best part of all was during the dancing, the dance floor was lit up in many different colors throughout the night. The pictures were stunning with the colors in the background.
Mike was a pleasure to work with, as well as all of All Star Entertainment, and I would highly recommend them in the future!
We got married on Oct 12th 2013 and had DJ Greg Gervais for our wedding, and we also purchased a monogram floor light. The lighting was perfect and added that little extra touch we were looking for. Greg did an amazing job, and I would certainly hire him again for any function. He kept the party going all night long ( and we had a longer than usual reception. ~7hrs ). The sound level was perfect, never too loud or too quiet. Sound quality was excellent and Greg kept the dance floor full all night, playing just the right mix of music to keep both the older and younger guests of our wedding dancing until the very end. He was amazing to work with, helpful throughout the night and understanding of all the things we wanted. We have received many compliments on Greg and continue to refer him to anyone that asks. Honestly I could not think of a better DJ, and I hope I get to work with Greg again in the future.
From the day my fiance and I walked into our first appointment with AllStar Entertainment to the last minute of my wedding, we were blown away by this group of people! The professionalism of the staff made the process seamless and during my wedding. DJ James was so fantastic! He got to know us and our taste in music and he just went with it. Everyone kept coming up to me and paying him compliments. We had a variety of age groups and the dance floor was never empty. The bridesmaids and I even broke out in chorus to Wilson Philips during dinner! I would highly recommend these guys for any occasion.
I ABSOLUTELY loved having James DiNanno as my wedding DJ! He made our wedding memorable and absolutely the best time our guests have had at a wedding. He was so easy to work with, as is all the staff from AllStar. He is super organized so we knew exactly when we would be contacted to discuss our music plans. He had great suggestions for our ceremony music and helped us tailor our wedding must-play list to our preferences. He had the entire crowd on the dance floor alllll nighhttt lonnnng! It was amazing!!! Everyone commented on how fun the music and dancing was that I ended up giving his name out to many of my friends and family that are planning their wedding. It was the best money I spent for my wedding day! Pick James!
We used AllStar for DJ and Lighting and they did a great job. DJ Greg listened to what we wanted (a DJ who would keep things moving without any cheesiness) and he did just that. The lighting was subtle and beautiful.
From the planning months before, to the day of, we couldn't have been happier. Allstar entertainment was there every step of the way making one thing less stressful. They were there answering every small silly question we had and followed up with us all the time. The day of was amazing and I thank Allstar and our awesome DJ James DiNanno so much. We had almost every guest on the dance floor and so many people pulled me aside throughout the day telling me what an amazing DJ we had. I can't thank James and Allstar Entertainment enough for such an amazing job. There's nothing like a terrible DJ to ruin your special day and let me tell you, you will NOT find that at Allstar. Our wedding would not have been the same with out James DiNanno. When we first meet James and told him that we wanted our weeding to not only be a celebration about us but our friends and family too we were instantly on the same page. We expressed to James that we wanted it to feel like a party with a tempo that would keep building throughout the night leaving guests wanting more when it came time to leave...and James did just that! He set the tone through each and every song keeping the night on track. When it came time to party after all the formalities were done the dance floor turned into a club and DJ JD ripped it up reading and engaging the crowd the whole time. 5 stars for James!. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ who listens, is attentive and detail orientated. James you made our night!!!!
My new husband and I had hired James DiNanno of AllStar Entertainment to DJ our wedding this past August, he was absolutely, hands down, the best DJ I've ever come across! He did everything that we had discussed; from playing the songs that we loved to running the whole wedding with enthusiasm and care. Our guests were truly wowed and speechless by the incredible job that was done. We plan on hiring James again in the future and we whole-heartedly recommend James to anyone who is looking to have an awesome wedding reception.
I used All Star Entertainment at my August 18th wedding at the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers, Ma. James DiNanno was our DJ, and Micheal Dynice was our lighting coordinator. We have nothing but great things to say about James and Micheal. James really listened to our music tastes and incorporated it into our event even though bands like "Something Corporate, Blink 182 and Saves the Day" arent usually heard at weddings. He went through everything with me, including the scedule of the day, song choices, and even the pronouncment of the bridal parties names. James was also very accomodating when right before the bridal party was about to be introduced, I wanted to change their intro song. James kept the dance floor packed even though it was a small wedding and his song choices really hit home with us. I would definitly book James again if I needed a dj. He was very professional, dressed very well and wasnt pushy with anything or always in your face. We were very pleased with our choice for Dj, and we recieved many compliments on the music at our event from our guests. What complimented James also, was the perfect lighting design by Micheal Dynice. They worked so well as a team and the lights were beautiful during dinner and really fun during the dance portion of the night. It was so fun to see all the lights flashing perfectly in sync with whatever music was playing. The lights put a perfect wash of color on the walls and Micheal had a great style fading them in and out to fit the moment. We were very pleased with the lighting! There arent enough good things to say about James and Micheal, I didnt have to worry about a thing all night and thats what we wanted. If you are on the fence about a dj or lighting coordinator. Give James and Micheal a try:)
I had this image of what I wanted the lighting to look like at our wedding and they created something even better. We got married at The Lenox Hotel and I wanted the lighting to be classy and elegant and we got just that. The lighting was romantic during our ceremony, elegant during dinner and then then really fun during the dancing for the rest of the night. I recommend AllStar Lighting without any reservations. They are excellent at what they do.
Michael was more than amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ. We loved him, he did everything we wanted and more. So many guests have told us how great they thought he was too. We knew Michael was the DJ for us from the second we met him. He made our wedding so much fun and he was great with catering to the whole crowd. We are going to recommend Michael and allstar entertainment to everyone we know in need of a DJ.
Dj Josh Wiseman was great! His selection of music was perfect for all of the wedding guests. His range of music was perfect. People were up dancing before dinner even started! He was great and flexible working with us the week of making some changes. He is very professional and great to work with. Guests continue to comment how fun the wedding was with the great music and dancing! We would highly recommend him for a wedding or any type of event.
James was our DJ for our wedding and everyone including me and my husband felt her was the best DJ we'd ever seen at a wedding. We gave him very little guidance, no song list or anything which is what he recommends because his job is to read the crowd and boy did he do that. We gave him a do not play list which he stuck to and just an idea of the type of music we wanted and everything was perfect from start to finish. Every guest there during and after the wedding kept saying how awesome he was. He was like my iPod on shuffle but so much better. He kept everyone on the dance floor even the older people who you wouldn't expect including both sets of parents who weren't happy with previous DJs at family weddings said he was the best DJ. He also helped organize all the events and kept everything n track during the night. He started the party early by getting everyone on the dance floor early and kept a low profile like we asked him to instead of all the over the top DJ stuff that we hate where they try to steal the show.
AllStar Entertainment & UpLighting was the best DJ and uplighting I have ever EVER seen! Not only because it was our wedding but all my friend and family loved the uplighting in the room and MY DJ JAMES DINANNO was AWESOME!(I've been to alot of weddings and have seen some Bad DJ's) Everyone at my wedding keeps asking about our DJ we had. Where did we get him, he's great, full of energy, professional, polite I could keep going LoL. Really just agreat group of people to work with. I miss them already! If your a 90's girl like me James is your guy, but let me tell you he can do it all. Brides if your on the fence about a DJ go to Allstar you wont regreat it I promise! Great Great people!!!
