I can't say enough about our experience with the Cameron Estate Inn. From the moment my Fiance(now husband!)and I stepped on property we knew it was the venue for us. It was the first and last location we looked at and we knew straight away that we didn't need to see anything else. We ended up booking the French Gazebo for the ceremony and the carriage house for the reception for our wedding on May 31, 2014. In total we had about 80 guests. We also rented out the entire inn for our wedding night so our bridal party and close friends and family could stay overnight. There are 18 different and beautiful rooms to choose from. My husband and I stayed in the Harvest Room. Rachel, the wedding coordinator, walked us through everything we needed to do and think about. All of her paperwork was so detailed, making the wedding that much easier to plan. She was always very prompt in answering when I had any questions. Mary, who works the front desk at the inn, was great to work with as well and made the reservation process easy. The property itself is gorgeous and elegant- you feel like you're stepping back in time. Even though we didn't have our ceremony in the new conservatory (we wanted to have it outdoors) it was a nice rain backup to have and is absolutely beautiful inside. We were able to set up a tasting at the inn's restaurant and brought along a couple of friends to share and enjoy the meal with. The food really is excellent so we picked three entrees - filet mignon, honey lavender game hen, and crab cakes. The reception was great and Tori made everything go so smoothly. We also had an after-party on the front porch of the inn with beer and wine for those that were staying overnight. From start to finish everyone had a great time and we received so many wonderful comments from our guests about the location, the staff, and the food. Oh - I forgot about breakfast the next morning - so yummy!!! Our officiant, Steven Park, was on their preferred vendor list and he was amazing. He and his wife are so friendly and inviting they made our big day that much more special - he was great to work with. Our wedding cake was included in our package and was done through The Flour Child. Alixe at The Flour Child was so nice and took on the challenge of our cake idea with excitement. I have to say it was really nice that everything was included in the catering package. We didn't have to pay a 'site fee' which feels like a waste of money. Yes there are catering minimums, but we got everything and more for the price that we paid. My bridal party and I got our hair and makeup done at Details Salon & Spa which is only about a 5 minute drive from the property and they did a great job. The cocktail hour was beautiful and the butlered hors d'oeuvres were amazing! (Sorry if this is in random order - I'm writing as I'm remembering)Overall, I'm so happy that we chose this location for both the wedding ceremony and reception. My husband and I had the best time and our guests loved every minute as well. We're also so happy that for anniversaries to come we can come back to the inn and enjoy a beautiful dinner and reminisce about our special day. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone and everyone.
When we were looking for our wedding venue, I was most interested in finding a venue that had a ceremony site and reception venue, that had a package that contained everything we would need for entire day. Cameron Estate was hands down the best option in the area. We had our ceremony at the Donegal Spring Garden site and our reception at the Carriage House. The ceremony site was beautiful and set up early enough that we were able to take pictures before the wedding. The staff took care of setting up everything for the ceremony, including tables that we needed for programs, etc. Also, having the option of using the Conservatory in case of rain made me feel so much better about any impending rain. I actually didn't really care if it rained or not. We had 140 guests and everyone fit comfortably in the Carriage House for the reception without feeling dwarfed by it. The food was wonderful and the buffet was set up very well. The grounds are so beautiful that we had all of our pictures taken outside and love them.
Most importantly, Rachel was totally willing to work with us for anything that we needed. We mostly communicated via email since that's what worked best for me, but she always responded within 24 hours, often much less. She helped me with everything we needed and coordinated everything exactly the way we wanted. She was also very willing to work with our other vendors, some of whom were recommended by the venue and some were not.
The day-of coordination was what really made me love Cameron Estate. They have a spacious room where all 4 of my bridesmaids, me, and my mother got dressed. When we arrived I talked to the banquet manager who gave me a rundown of what was going on. She came back to the room with a few questions to make sure I was in the loop and then coordinated with my mom so I wouldn't have to worry about anything.
Cameron Estate had everything that we were looking for in a wedding venue for a great value.
We are pleased that your wedding unfolded exactly as planned. Like our bridal couples, we don't want to leave *anything* to the last minute *or* to chance. A relaxed bride is a beautiful bride! We look forward to seeing your wedding photos and we h...
My husband and I had our reception at Cameron Estate a few weeks ago and everything was wonderful. The Carriage Hall is beautiful and the space worked very well for dinner and dancing. The grounds are lovely and made for great pictures. Rachel, the event director, was wonderful to work with. I was a very detail oriented bride and was able to communicate with her regularly. There were a lot of extra touches I wanted to include such as a memorial table in the reception hall, a milk toast for our cake cutting, and luminaries outside at cocktail hour. All the details were carried out well and were just as I had invisioned. The day of the wedding, the wait staff was excellent. Guests received their food very quickly, everyone at Cameron was very polite and professional, and everyone loved the food.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We love working with detail-oriented brides ~ it makes the planning process *and* the event execution run smoothly. Our staff genuinely enjoyed entertaining your friends and family and we hope you'll co...
We stayed at Cameron Estates a few nites in preparation for my daughters wedding. The inn is lovely and tastefully furnished in authentic period pieces. In addition, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Service was without question very professional but with the added element of true caring. In particular I want to mention Elizabeth. I personally watched her work ceaselessly from early morning preparing the dining area for the wedding reception, continuing on into the evening serving hors d' oeuvres, serving the meals, and finally clearing the tables at the end of the event. Imagine my surprise when I went to the dining area early the next morning to see her washing the windows! Heidi partnered well with Elizabeth. Elizabeth and the personable inn manager ( I am sorry I did not catch her name but she was so pleasant, approachable and helpful) made an effort to reach out to us to ensure we had everything we needed that would result in a pleasant experience at Cameron estates. The inn manager spent considerable time with a couple who were leaving the inn and going on to DC. They were so impressed with the Cameron and wanted to experience another B and B in DC. Not only did she offer assistance in helping them find a place on the internet, she contacted the location and arranged a reservation. The food at Cameron Estates was magnificent. Breakfast was fresh and appetizing. Dinner at the restaurant showed exactly why it is identified as five star. We ate in the restaurant several times. I can attest that the wedding meal was just as good as what is offered in the restaurant. I found out later that the chef assistant was out ill the night of the wedding and the chef managed the whole wedding reception meal alone. There was not a single hitch. This speaks to true professionalism and dedication to quality service.
When we initially started the planning process of our wedding we wanted a destination wedding. We explored many options but were unable to find a destination that suited us in a short amount of time. I happened to come across Cameron Estate Inn and fell in love with it. Cameron Estate Inn was able to offer us everything we wanted in a destination wedding without leaving Lancaster County.
We were able to reserve the Inn for our friends and families for the entire weekend, which allowed us to be surrounded by the most important people in our lives.
We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception all in one place. We were able to utilize the front porch of the Inn to host our guests for cocktail hours and a post reception gatherings.
The staff at Cameron Estate Inn were friendly, kind and accommodating to us and our guests. Rachel was wonderful to work with. She really knows what she is doing. She is very organized. If you have a question, concern or just need some planning advice she will be there.
I was very happy with Cameron Estate Inn and would recommend this venue. It is absolutely beautiful.
Overall, I had a beautiful wedding. When we were setting things up in the Carriage House preparing for the reception, it took me 3 times asking someone to turn the lights on, and about 20 minutes later they came on. The seating chart we turned in was not followed and we had way too many settings. However once this was discovered, it was immediately changed before the event began. It was not clear to me all of the options available for the bridal party to get ready so the guys ended up having to use the room we rented to stay in. In the grand scheme of things these hickups did not ruin our day and once the ceremony started the rest of the event was very smooth. The servers were polite and the food was incredible.
The staff at Cameron Estate were great to work with! They were extremely kind and helpful throughout the entire process. Everything along the way was laid out and all we had to do was follow the deadlines given. The wedding day was great! Everything went smoothly without any issues. I would definitely recommend anyone use this venue for their wedding!
Cameron Estate Inn offered us the ability to have the feeling of a destination wedding without leaving Lancaster county. In addition to getting married and having our reception at Cameron Estate Inn we also had our rehearsal dinner and reserved the Inn for our bridal party and family for the entire weekend. The staff was always warm and helpful, the food was always above expectation, the grounds were clean and manicured and minus having to move our ceremony inside due to rain, everything went just as we could have hoped.
Cameron Estate Inn really is the perfect spot for a wedding. Rachel, the inn's wedding planner, made sure she covered all of our needs. The rural landscape is beautiful and if rain becomes an issue, everyone can be moved inside the gorgeous brand new solarium. The food is excellent. The staff is professional. It truly was a perfect day. We recommend Cameron Estate to anyone. 5 stars
The Cameron was a beautiful place for a wedding! Rachel was very attentive to our wants and needs as we planned and prepared for our day. The place was well landscaped and the staff was very polite and responsive to our guests. The fact that the ceremony and reception was in the same place made for an easy flow of time and rotation for our guests. I would highly recommend the Cameron Estate Inn for your wedding!
We rented out the inn for the entire weekend in April. It was perfect. Their event planner Rachel is very thorough and thoughtful and Tori who assisted the day of the event was very attentive. Mary in the inn was the sweetest! It was a great way to get family and friends together. We had our rehearsal dinner here too! Candied bacon for breakfast was amazing. I would definitely do it all over again!
Thank you so much for taking the time to post your feedback. We're glad you and your guests enjoyed the food, property, and service. Your group was a lot of fun to host, and we are happy everyone enjoyed all the weekend festivities! Weddings are typi...
The Cameron Estate Inn is a marvelous wedding venue. We had many guests that were local to Central Pa, but we also had a number of guests traveling from out of state. The Cameron Estate Inn allowed us to have a destination-style wedding within reach of our home. It was such a joy having our friends and family from all over, under one roof.
We had roughly 110 people at our wedding. Roughly 35 people stayed over night at the Inn. Breakfast was included for guests who stayed over night and it was excellent.
Our guests were comfortable in our ceremony site and the reception site. We used the Conservatory for our ceremony site. It is a stunning building that showcases the grounds, chandeliers, and fireplace mantle. Many of our guests commented on the beauty and romance of the Conservatory. The late afternoon sun made for some great photos. The Carriage House had a medium sized dance floor and was still able to hold a dozen, 10 person tables easily.
Our wedding was in late March 2014. Despite the long and difficult winter the grounds were in good shape and prepared for the spring bloom.
The food is excellent. Many guests commented that it was the best "wedding food" that they have ever had. The wait staff did a fine job of serving the food and assisting our guests.
Two items that were frustrating was that the bar ran out of top shelf liquor and started to serve bottom shelf spirits, despite our paid liquor upgrade. In fact, at one point the Groom was only given a half-pour of bourbon, despite asking for bourbon on his wedding day. The bartender said she couldn't give him more despite the bottle being half full. Lastly, a bridal shower was scheduled on the same day as our wedding. This meant that our wedding coordinator was working with another group and was not always available. However, after the bridal party was over, the coordinator did an excellent job and corrected everything that needed assistance. The Cameron Estate Inn is very busy, so if you book your wedding, please know that there may be other events scheduled on your day.
Please note, despite our two minor frustrations, we feel it was the perfect venue for our wedding. We would recommend the Cameron Estate Inn to our friends.
I had a wonderful wedding day. The backdrop that Cameron provides is stunning. Over and over people have complemented me on what a beautiful day. I had a more intimate wedding with 60 guests and the venue worked so well for my groom and I to share our day with our family and friends. Our meals were wonderful for both the rehearsal and wedding with large portion sizes. It is certainly worth considering Cameron Inn Estate Inn!
I was recently married and had my wedding recepetion at Cameron Estate & Inn on March 29, 2014. From the beginning to the end of the process, Rachel, the wedding coordinator at CE was extremely helpful and friendly. We planned our wedding in a short window of time, and the reason why I was able to pull off such a magical day was because of CE. The buldings, rooms and property are so beautiful and well kept, that there really is no need to embellish. The Conservatory was my special favorite. It is so beautiful and romantic! It reminds me a beautiful ballroom in a French Chateau; ornate yet not overdone. So very classy. Everything was set up when it was supposed to be and correctly, the staff was friendly and helpful to guests. And the food was excelllent! Even my fussy groom loved the food! I would reccommend Cameron Estates to other brides.
My daughter was married at Cameron Estate Inn. Her ceremony was held in the very beautiful Conservatory and reception was in the wonderful Carriage House. The wedding planner, Rachel, was efficient and professional. The banquet manager, Tori, was kind and warm and very hospitable. The dinner, drinks and hors d'oeuvres were yummy. The venue is beautiful, lending itself to memorable pictures.
We found the planning process to be mostly enjoyable, although we did have a personal crisis, which delayed our planning and Cameron Estates had very little sympathy. For about a month we were not sure if we were going to have the wedding and we talked with Cameron Estates with regard to options in canceling, changing or postponing the wedding. During this time we did miss two payments. As soon as we decided to go ahead with the wedding, we immediately made all payments and were never late on any other payments after that time. There was some mention of possible late fees, but we asked if the late fees could please be waived in light of our situation and in light of the fact that immediately after making the decision to have the wedding we paid everything up to that date. When no late charges were assessed on any statements from there on out, we assumed that Cameron Estates had chosen to be understanding and not knock us with those nearly $600 in late charges.
With regard to the $1000 alcohol noncompliance fee. During the reception, we were made aware of one incident where a gentleman had outside alcohol. We took this situation very seriuosly and my daughter and the banquet manager confronted him and the banquet manager told me that he complied and that there was not a problem and it was not a reportable insident. We were never made aware of ANY other issues the rest of the night and after we had completely cleaned up after the reception, and after the facility was nearly done being set up for the next event, I asked if there was anything else that we needed to do and how the banquet manager felt that it went. She said everything went very well and there was nothing we needed to do, never making us aware of any alcohol issues whatsoever. If CE was aware of all of these non compliance issues, why were we not made aware?
You can imagine our shock then at being charged late fees and alcohol noncompliance fees. These charges were automatically charged to our credit card ( which was required by Cameron Estaes a week or so before the wedding to cover anything occurring the day of the wedding) and a statement was emailed to us, showing what had been charged.
As others have warned, read the contract!!!! When some of the contractual factors come into play later in the game, you THEN realize how rigid some areas are and how ridiculously high some of the fees are. We felt in the end that they were looking for ways to find us in violation of the contract, so they could charge us more.
The innkeeper, Randy, who runs the Inn and wedding venue is a stick in the mud. He certainly does not make you feel like he would bend over backwards for you or that he is even appreciative for your business. He actually yelled at my daughter and hung up the phone on her when she questioned him on some after wedding fees that had been charged to our credit card. Very unprofessional!
A truly beautiful wedding and venue was soured in the end by a lack of kindness and graciousness
We are disheartened that this client choose to post a one-sided review. Here are the direct quotes from the mother of the bride emails acknowledging they were happy with their event:
“All in all, Ashley's wedding was beautiful and well executed, cr...
My husband and I wanted to renew our vows after 20 years of marriage and chose Cameron Estate Inn as the reception location. We could not have asked for a more perfect event. Rachel, Randy and the entire staff were simply a delight in every way! Rachel helped us walk through the logistics and provided ideas along the way, keeping us updated as the event neared. We reserved the entire inn to house our guests, which made for a fun filled and very intimate weekend for everyone. Not only did we have a great time at our reception in the Carriage House, the evening continued late into the night as we changed into more comfortable clothes and socialized in the sitting room and common areas of the inn. It was almost like hosting in our own home. Our guests fell in love with the inn’s beauty, even in the middle of a very cold and snowy winter!
The reception food was perfectly prepared and our guests raved about it – not typically something you get from banquet food. The chef was eager also to meet our Irish Breakfast challenge for the next morning. Not only was it authentic, but it was delicious and made for the perfect way to end a Celtic themed weekend celebration. Thank you, Cameron Estate Inn for making our vow renewal celebration truly an event our family and friends won't soon forget!
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting your Wedding Anniversary and, after 20+ years of marriage, we think you are especially deserving a fabulous celebration! It was really nice to watch the progression of the weekend as your guests enjoyed the party, but al...
I would definitely book here again, as the venue is beautiful and my wedding ran very smoothly. However, the owners are not particularly welcoming or easy to deal with, and we definitely felt nickle and dimed by the end.
We are so happy we chose Cameron Estate as our wedding venue. It made for gorgeous photos! We had our ceremony in the Spring Garden and the reception in the Carraige House. It went off without a hitch, the staff is friendly and accomodating. Couldn't be happier!!
Cameron Estate Inn was the perfect fit for my wedding! My fiance and I went to at least 7 venues all over Pennsylvania until finding Cameron Estate Inn. The food at the restaurant is a 10 out of 10-our family dinned there at least 3 times prior to the wedding. All of the outside ceremony sites are beautiful and the new Conservatory is flawless! Rachel Huss is the wedding coordinator there that was excellant from start to finish! She answered all of our questions and was very friendly and professional right from the beginning. I highly recommend Cameron Estate Inn for those brides looking for venues-trust me when I say you will NOT be disappointed!
We were thrilled with how friendly and courteous the staff was to not only us but our guests as well. They catered to everything we wanted and made the entire event a success. The food was amazing! They even set hors d'Oeuvres at the head table for the wedding party since we didn't get to take part in cocktail hour. I have already told anyone I know who is getting married or celebrating an anniversary to check out The Cameron Estate Inn.
