The Carlson Towers Rotunda and Amphitheater are majestic. My husband and I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. Although we had our fingers crossed for a mid-October outdoor wedding in the amphitheater, the weather didn't agree, but we were blown away by how perfect our indoor rotunda ceremony turned out to be. My entrance- walking down the grand staircase- was unforgettable. After the ceremony, the rotunda and foyer were well-suited for cocktail hour and our receiving line, dinner was DELICIOUS, and the dance floor was packed for four hours.
Events Director/Wedding Specialist Dawn was supremely helpful and always accessible, available to answer every question and concern via phone or email in no time. She provided guidance to help make our reception go smoothly and without a hitch, while striving to incorporate our ideas to help personalize our wedding. She even made a note to bring my husband chicken fingers in addition to his meal after overhearing him mention how much he loves them in our planning meeting.
The coordinators and staff who were present on the day of the wedding went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I (and our families and bridal party) had nothing to worry about- they took care of absolutely everything. They made sure members of our bridal party knew when their food was being served so that they'd be able to enjoy a hot meal (and even brought us another salad after hearing us rave about how good they tasted!), cued us when it was time for speeches so we didn't have to watch the clock, and regularly touched base during the dance to see if we needed anything.
I would recommend Carlson, and the wonderful service and tasty food that goes along with it, in a heartbeat for any wedding ceremony and reception.
Our ceremony and reception were at The Carlson Towers. Everything was absolutely amazing! The staff was so incredible and the venue looked absolutely gorgeous! The food was also delicious! My wedding was as close to perfect as it could have possibly been thanks in large part to the wonderful staff at The Carlson Towers.
the team at the Carlson Center did a fanatstic job. they are a caring bunch of people that pays close attention to the details. Our wedding ceremony was outside with the reception inside. the venue is great! the food outstanding! we had a duet entre of salmon and lamb. It was perfectly prepared.
my wife and I like water lily's so we had some placed in the pond outside for our service. After the ceremony the staff had them brought inside and placed in the fountain. we didn't ask for this to be done, they just did it. That is just one small example of the great job they did.
we highly recommend the Carlson Center
We were so impressed with how helpful, knowledgeable and thorough Carlson was in planning our wedding reception. They were so easy to work with, upbeat and made the day so personal and special.
Beautiful marble floors, good food, great drinks. Higher end as far as price.
The venue speaks for itself. Very pretty.
We just had our ceremony and reception at Carlson Towers. The whole day couldn’t have gone more perfectly. The whole planning process and day of went flawless thanks to Kirsten and Dawn (and staff). Staff was extremely knowledgeable. Kirsten provided a perfect flow of events for the evening. Open bar was a huge hit. We had an exceptional experience with them and would highly recommend this venue.
My now husband and I got married at the Carlson Center on May 10th. We had our ceremony and reception onsite. Throughout the planning process, Dawn and Kirsten were amazing to work with. They thought of every detail and because of that, we got to enjoy our wedding day because we knew everything was already taken care of. Our guests were raving about the venue and service so much so that we are still hearing how great everything was! You can tell that the Carlson Center is passionate about what they do and want to make sure you have the day/night of your dreams. I would highly recommend this wedding venue!
Perfect Venue, perfect night!
The venue was beautiful inside and just as beautiful outside for our ceremony.. Food was excellent the service was great. Dawn was great to work with and answered questions at anytime. Highly recommend this venue
beautiful venue inside and out, very well run, everything went smooth.. only thing would be to be able to get in sooner to decorate.
The place is absolutely gorgeous! The coordinators there, Dawn and Kirsten work very hard to make sure that things go flawless. They are very detail oriented and pointed out several things that I have missed when planning for the wedding. The place as you can tell is amazing! The best in MN in my opinion, very open, with glass windows surrounding the reception. I love the outdoor amphitheater and would highly recommend having a ceremony there as it is gorgeous.
Food-depending on the entree you order, but I really liked the lamb chops and lobster. I did a duet entree and most of the guests really liked the quality of the food. The duet entree was a little small compared to the tasting, but the quality is very good still.
Also, I would recommend getting the full decor that Carlson offers as it adds such an elegant touch to the place.
I absolutely couldn't have found a venue with a more accommodating staff! I always received quick responses to my questions, was prompted with questions about details that I hadn't even thought about, and felt like they genuinely cared about making our day special and flawless. All of the staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. They truly made our wedding a fairytale experience and I thank them for the perfect and beautiful evening it turned out to be!!!
I don't think there is a more beautiful venue in the state of Minnesota. The floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the beautiful scenery outside are breathtaking and the staircases that come down the sides are so beautiful. They've done so many weddings there and they know what they're doing. This really was my dream venue and I'm so glad I could celebrate my wedding here.
They were so easy to work with and made our day and night amazing.
Our wedding did not go as smoothly as we thought it would, especially for the price tag of Carlson. The good news is that we still ended up married at the end of the day.
While trying to change into our dresses in the cafe we were promised to use, some man kept going in and out of his office that happened to be right where we were. Our "coordinator", Bev, said there was nothing she could do about it.
We were unaware that even though you pay for both a ceremony and reception, that Carlson does not and will not do anything to help set up your ceremony (i.e. a sand ceremony). No big deal, as we had many helpers on site.
We paid over $400 for a champagne toast at the end of our ceremony, which had to occur twice because there was still an entire row that hadn't received their glasses. Bev was asking guests where we were in the ceremony, rather than following along in the program. The servers were standing in our way as we were trying to do the rose ceremony for our mothers, because they were passing the champagne too late.
Our dinner was cold and not half as good as the tasting. It also took about 20 min between courses. So instead of taking 50 minutes total for dinner as planned, it took over 90, resulting in a lot of people leaving early in the dance. At one table, a server took away the basket of rolls before dinner was over. When a guest said she would like another one, he told her that each guest was only allowed one, and proceeded to take the basket away.
The bar never got bigger inside as we were told it would. My husband had to ask Bev to, at least, bring in the second bartender so there wasn't a line at the bar anymore. When you have 200 guests, one bartender just will not cut it, which is why we paid for two.
We paid almost $21,000 to this vendor and expected everythinbg to be effortless and flawless for our big day but they just did not meet our expectations, though, it is a beautiful venue.
Some time after the wedding, someone in charge of making our wedding day go smoothly and perfectly (as we were assured by Dawn that it would) was caught talking disrespectfully about my husband and I, and our wedding day, while at a fitness club. I could not have been more shocked to hear this. The people in charge of Bon Apetit should be ashamed of themselves for employing such a person.
It has been over three months since our wedding and we have yet to get any type of compensation from them.

We choose this venue for the gorgeous interior and exterior. We had both the ceremony and reception inside and were beyond impressed at the beauty and ease at which the room changed and took shape. The food and service was excellent and everyone was very easy to work with, throughout the whole planning process!
I would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting the ceremony and reception at the same place. The outdoor ceremony location was beautiful and so was the indoor reception site. Very little decorating was needed, just flowers. The staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. We received many compliments from guests about the location.
The only issue we had was their alcohol policy. They have it as either no alcohol, wine with dinner only, or host the bar all night. It would have been nice to have a hosted hour or two and then switch to cash bar.
The Carlson Center Rotunda was amazing. Dawn was a joy to work with, her and her team have got hosting wedding down to a science and there was not a detail missed. The Rotunda is a beautiful venue, the food was fantastic, every detail was taken care of and the service was 2nd to none.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful venue. We fell in love with it when we first visited the venue, but that was NOTHING compared to how it looked on our wedding day! The staff did a fabulous job decorating and making sure things ran smoothly throughout our event, and we received so many compliments from our guests. Wouldn't have changed a thing. It was truly a fairytale wedding location!
