I do not even know where to begin in writing this review. If you are looking for a beautiful venue in Fairfield County, look no further than Dolce Norwalk. The grounds are gorgeous, and the venue can serve as a one-stop-shop if you wish with ceremony, reception and hotel all in one place. My husband and I knew we did not want to have a religious ceremony and were married under the picturesque wedding tree on site. Dolce does a wonderful job setting up an intimate outdoor ceremony space. If weather were to not cooperate they also have indoor options.
Hazel Scudder, the wedding coordinator is fantastic. Hazel knows her stuff. She keeps things in order, is quick at returning emails (and I sent a million), and works with her couples at planning and budgeting the wedding of their dreams. I can't quite put into words how thankful I am for having Hazel, but really she is a dream to work with. I loved her and miss her now that the wedding is over now!
We had 160 people at our wedding and all fit very comfortably in the ballroom. I do see that this says capacity could go to 200 in the ballroom, and while I believe it, I think that would be tight, so be cautious if you think you may have more than 180 guests.
The food was exceptional, the staff was wonderful to work with. Another bonus, once your reception is over, there is a bar upstairs if you would like to continue the party until 1am, then guests can just walk down the hall to their hotel rooms.
Comparing prices to other venues in Connecticut, I find Dolce very comparable. I think if you want more bang for your buck, you would want to look into the more "wedding factory" type venues where more than 1 wedding a day or at the same time could be going on. My husband and I were looking for a more intimate venue where we were the focus of the staff and we got that service at Dolce.

Dolce was a wonderful place to get married! The grounds were beautiful with many spots for pictures. The food was fresh and delicious with many choices. We only had our reception at Dolce, but they are capable of doing both ceremony and reception together. Our favorite part of Dolce was the fact that you could have ceremony, reception, after party, and breakfast the next day all in one spot. Your guests did not need to travel once they arrived. Dolce only does one wedding a weekend making your day more special. You had the big hotel feel in a venue that was all brick buildings with hiking trails and beautiful grounds. We loved that our guests were well taken care of! Dolce is definitely a hidden gem!

The Dolce is a beautiful venue. From the drive up the to the hotel passing the red barn, the lake and the bridge you are captivated by the beauty of this special place. The food was delicious, the rooms are lovely and the staff is friendly and very accommodating.
Best of all is Hazel Scudder. Hazel helped us plan every aspect of our wedding Nothing was too much for her. A true professional in every way.
I would highly recommend having your affair at the Dolce, my friends are still talking about what a great wedding it was.

I only have the best things to say about my wedding reception at Dolce Norwalk. My husband and I happened to see Dolce Norwalk on a search of venues in Fairfield County and decided to go there first on our list. We immediately fell in love with the property upon driving in. I could see multiple places that would be absolutely beautiful for the backdrop in our pictures, from the red barn, lake, water fountain, and tree lined road. The brick exterior of the buildings was impressive and the lobby was gorgeous. We felt almost immediately that this was the place we wanted to have our reception. The ballroom and area surrounding were perfect for us and we loved the fact that the rest of the property was the most incredible place to host our wedding guests for the weekend. Our October wedding was picture perfect and we could not be happier with our choice, even almost a year later!
The best part of having your wedding at Dolce Norwalk is Hazel Scudder, the catering sales manager extraordinaire. She is the most delightful, caring, passionate, and kind person. She not only helped us create the perfect vision of our reception, she was there as a wealth of knowledge about all parts of the wedding planning process. She was there to calm nerves, help with decisions, and offer advice. I do not think we could have had such a perfect wedding without her! THANK YOU HAZEL!
Our guests were so impressed by the property, hotel, professional staff. The vendors recommended by Hazel were phenomenal! We used Tom from Sound Solutions and Stew Leonard's for our flowers. They were fantastic!
My advice? Go take a tour of Dolce Norwalk and see why it is one of the best (or in my opinion, THE BEST) place to have a wedding!

The thought process of planing a wedding was very difficult, but as soon as I found Dolce, Norwalk and Hazel, the catering sales manager , all my worries and fears disappeared. She helped me plan a lot of details that I wouldn't have thought otherwise. The overall experience was amazing, the service impeccable, my guests were constantly attended to and I did not see a line for a drinks. The food was delicious (one less thing to worry about) and my day turned out to be perfect. All my guests thoroughly enjoyed the scenic views of Dolce,Norwalk and wonder accomodations. I also used one of the entertainment recommendations from Hazel and until this day I continue to get compliments on how memorable was my wedding day was. I also held an after party at the launge/bar upstairs in which my guests continued to soak up the Dolce treatment and enjoyed pool tables games, more dancing (per my request) and refreshing beverages served by the wonderful staff at Dolce. I wish I can do it all over again, and I can't wait to go back to Dolce even if it is just for dinner to re-live the wonderful memory of my wedding. Best of luck!!

Other than marrying my new husband, choosing to have our wedding at Dolce Norwalk was the absolute best decision I have ever made. Hazel Scudder, the wedding organizer, was simply amazing to work with. She guided us from start to finish- from helping choose our menu months before to drying my tears right before I walked down the aisle- Hazel make us feel confident and content through the entire process.
Simply put- Dolce Norwalk is a beautiful venue with fantastic food and amazing service.
Our entire wedding weekend was flawless magical and I would not have changed a thing!

The most amazing experience. Every detail, every service was as though I was the only person in the world. We couldn't have dreamed a better wedding.

A huge thank you to Hazel, the event coordinator at Dolce in Norwalk, CT. She made our daughter's wedding extra special. We were already amazed when we first met her and how she represented the venue. She was always available to answer questions or meet with us. She guided us professionally through all the details. During the wedding she was just phenomenal. We cannot thank her enough. The venue itself is a gem, made us feel like we had a destination wedding. The hotel rooms were beautifully decorated. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows just the best. The front desk was always very helpful and friendly and made our stay extra special. The food was extraordinary to say the least, everything was exquisite. Portions were good. Courses were nicely spaced to give guests time to digest. Overall we have to thank Dolce and all their employees for making this an unforgettable event and making us feel so welcome. We can only recommend Dolce for future events. You cannot go wrong.

We looked at a few places in Fairfield County before we saw Dolce. The moment we drove up the beautiful driveway we were in love! Not only is the building itself (an old monastery) completely breathtaking, but the grounds are amazing! There's a pond, trails, rolling hills and the list goes on!
Hazel, the event coordinator, was the icing on the cake! Everyone at Dolce is so friendly and helpful and they all make sure your day runs perfectly without a hitch! Hazel has great ideas and works with you to perfect your special day.
The food is delicious and the servings are huge! I think everyone was stuffed for days! The hotel rooms were amazing and the beds were super comfortable!
Too bad Dolce isn't open for the public because I could make a habit out of vacationing there. You really feel like you're at a resort in the mountains. It's quiet, peaceful and serene and is the perfect place for a wedding! We couldn't have been happier and we are so glad that we were able to celebrate at Dolce!

Dolce Norwalk was the perfect setting for our reception. We loved that people could stay there and it was more private and personal than a hotel. The grounds are beautiful and in addition to the ballroom they also have a cool bar area with pool tables and shuffleboard that was a fabulous spot for our after party. Hazel, their wedding coordinator, was extremely reliable and responsive and allowed us to do almost anything we wanted (bring in our own linens, chairs, etc) and got us everything we needed during our reception. Our guests are still commenting on the amazing food, beautiful setting, and friendliness of the staff. I could not have had a better wedding reception and I hope someone else I know gets married there so I can enjoy the Dolce experience again!

I got married at Dolce a month ago and am really pleased I did! The entire experience was wonderful. The venue is quite large, but they have several different areas in which they can accommodate you. We worked with the catering manager, Hazel, and she is amazing. Very organized, accommodating, great at communicating, and she made the whole planning process a cinch. We loved that they also had rooms to accommodate out of town guests with all the amenities of a hotel. The food was good and plentiful. Dolce really is an amazing value. I highly recommend them.

I would absolutely recommend Dolce Norwalk for a wedding. We had our entire weekend at Dolce - rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, outdoor wedding ceremony, reception, and after party. Many of our guests also stayed on site - one of the biggest draws for us. The food was delicious (and plentiful). The hotel rooms and amenities were lovely. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and accommodating. Hazel is delightful to work with and knows exactly what she is doing. Her recommendations throughout the planning were invaluable, and she ran a beautiful day for us. Everyone told us this was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been too, and we had a marvelous time!

I was delighted to be a guest at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Taylor at Dolce on Saturday, August 3rd. I had never been there before and it was just so pretty when I arrived by car. Once inside, I thought it was such a lovely place for a bridal reception. I was there a bit early to do an errand for the MOB and so enjoyed seeing the staff put their finishing touches on what was surely going to be a stupendous affair! I met the manager, Hazel, and even though she wouldn't let me peek into the banquet room, I could tell it would be worth the wait! It was! The room was gorgeous with plenty of room for the 140 guests. We had a blast dancing with plenty of room for those of us in our fabulous fifties! The food was DELICIOUS and we were taken care of with the expert, friendly service by Christina, I think her name was. My chicken with onion jam was fabulous! Normally, my husband and I share our dinners but we were each enjoying our entrees so much, we weren't wiling to share this time! We danced the night away and when we wanted a moment off the dancefloor, wandered outside to the patio to chat under the stars! We live in Wilton and it was so great to be at such a lovely place but still be so close to home! We took back roads and were home in less than 15 minutes!

Our experience with Dolce Norwalk was superb! The venue is beautiful - grounds, building, etc. When you drive up the winding drive you see meadows and ponds and a fountain....all gorgeous. As you approach the entrance you can see where the outside cocktail area is and there are many pretty tables with umbrellas there for use on a nice day. The lobby of Dolce is very pretty and welcoming and sets the mood right away for a beautiful affair. The staff is totally accommodating and Hazel, the manager, is at your beck and call. She does everything to make the party wonderful. The ballroom was gorgeous, the food really excellent. Everyone loved the entire wedding reception. I would very highly recommend this venue to any bride and groom. I don't think they can do better in the state of CT.

The property is beautiful. We had 100 guests. Over half came from out of town and needed accommodations, so it's great one stop shopping. Hazel is invaluable to the property and an event like this. She comes on a bit strong initially, but she delivers on everything she says she will. She will keep you on your schedule, if you allow her. From the second visit, other staff at the property remembered us, greeted us, and made us feel welcome and that they were looking forward to making our event a success. Guests loved the location. Guests were extremely complimentary of the cocktail hour food (we chose the premiere package); The dinner food was very good; two or there people said the swordfish was a little dry for their taste; everyone said the filet was wonderful. Everyone agreed that there was so much food, that you didn't need to add anything. My only qualification is that guests will need transportation; there are not that many tourist type activities to do in Norwalk, so if you have guests that will need entertaining over a weekend, you have to be prepared to do assist in that aspect. We were completely satisfied with our choice and have nothing but the best memories of the experience, and we think it's mostly because of the decision we made to have it at Dolce Norwalk. We did include breakfast for our guests on Sunday morning. We did the buffet so that we did not have to guarantee a number. It worked well so guests could wander in and out during the breakfast time period.

I have to say my husband and I have no complaints at all. Despite Hurricane Sandy, Hazel and her very friendly staff pulled off the best wedding every. All our guests are still talking about it and want to attend more events there. From the service to the location to the food it was such an unbelievable experience. For us we could not have been any more pleased than we were. Thank you Hazel and the staff at Dolce!

Our daughter always wanted to have a dream wedding, and since she lives in Spain it was up to us to arrange one. And Dolce did not
disappoint. From the wedding planner, Hazel, to the entire staff, everyone was so pleasant and efficient and made the day run smoothly. Also, Hazel has a great deal of experience, and her competence and confidence relaxed our daughter, and us, as she oversaw and advised everything, down to being present at the reception, and prompting the Bride throughout the evening. In addition, the lists she provided of vendors provided us with professional people to work with, who never let us down
We had a "tasting" of the food some 6 months before the day, and our new son-in-law who used to be a Chef in Spain, was totally impressed.
The venue for the Cocktail Hour before the Reception was a delightful patio, and the sun shone brightly during it. Then the Ballroom, what can I say about it? We all just went "wow" when we entered it......
Not only did we have a dancing crowd, but everyone had plenty of opportunity to chat to others who were there and to socialize; after the Event, many guests retired to the Real English Bar, just nearby the Ballroom, and continued the fun, before walking nearby to their rooms afterwards.
Outside, the campus is on 66 splendid acres, of woods, trails, and even a little lake (photo op!), not to mention the gym and pool indoors, so there was
truly something for everyone....and to think all this is only one hours drive from New York City, boggles the mind.
As many of our guests told us what a wonderful wedding it was, we agreed, and would not hesitate to recommend this Venue to others....

we chose Dolce for our reception location for the beautiful landscape, delicious food and excellent wedding coordinator Hazel. We were beyond happy about his decision and wouldn't have changed one thing.

Our guests are still talking about the beauty and lovely accommodations at Dolce Norwalk. Although many of them live in Southwest Connecticut, very few people even knew Dolce existed, so the venue was special for our local friends as well as friends and family who traveled to the wedding.
Behind the scenes, all the arrangements were outstanding. Hazel Scudder, the on-site planner and mistress of ceremonies, is a joy to work with and arranged for everything as we wished.
We have nothing but compliments for Dolce's staff, chef, and crew.
Many people say that they would book a place again, but never have the opportunity to do so. I have already booked a Retreat for a non-profit corporation for the Spring, and the wedding was only weeks ago.
We're looking forward to it!

Dolce Norwalk was the best place we could have chosen for our wedding. Hazel, the wedding coordinator, works nonstop to make sure all her brides and grooms are as happy as possible. She is extremely attentive and responsive to any and all questions you have along the way. The property at Dolce is gorgeous, so we were able to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony and our wedding photos are amazing. The food at our wedding was even better than at our tasting. As a bonus, it is also a hotel (that's not open to the public), so you and your wedding guests can have all the fun you want at the reception (and the after-party at the bar upstairs--which you'll have mostly to yourselves!) and then all you have to do is take a short walk back to your room at the end of the night. Guests have been saying that ours was one of the best weddings they've ever been to. We would definitely recommend this venue for your wedding.
