I am a bride trying to plan my wedding from out-of-town. I happened to be in the area looking at other vendors for my wedding when I decided to just pop into a few bridal boutiques and take a look at some dresses. I really did not have much of a vision of what I wanted on my day and was dreading going in to try on dresses. As a plus sized bride, I was terrified of going and trying on dress after dress that were many sizes too small. After going to a couple of other bridal boutiques in the area, I convinced myself to give it one more shot that day. I am so very glad I did! The store is beautifully decorated and the quality of the dresses was unlike any I had seen that day. Joann was quick to greet me and made me feel very comfortable. Every dress she pulled for me matched the description I had given her on how I envisioned my wedding day. She offered to have a designer custom create a dress with elements I liked from other dresses. Finally, I had slipped into a dress that was just perfect and matched everything that I wanted in a dress! Joann was so supportive and helpful! She pulled veils, offered design options, and was my unexpected blessing that day. She really made my fears disappear about trying on wedding dresses.
I highly recommend European Bridal to any bride wanting a personal experience with a very supportive staff. If you want to have your vision come to life and are looking for a place that listens to what your ideas are and go above and beyond, this is it!
After a long day of dress shopping and no luck, my bridesmaids talked me into going to European Bridal which I thought was out of my price range. I walked in and was immediately greeted by JoAnn. She asked me my price range, grabbed dresses that were in my price range and took me to try them on. The first dress I tried on at this store was exactly what I was looking for - classing, lace, elegant, great quality!!! I did not expect to find exactly what I was looking for and in my price range at this store. It was a great experience. Also, when I was concerned about timing of the dress getting in, they were so kind and understanding and worked there magic to have it arrive on its estimated shipping date. Great team at European Bridal. Highly recommend if you're looking for great quality and customer service. Thank you! Only downside, my bridesmaids could not take pictures of the dress I really loved because they do not allow pictures unless you purchase. It was a little awkward especially considering my mom was so disappointed she couldn't be there with me that day for personal reasons. She still hasn't seen the dress. The other stores I went to were taking pictures for me in dresses with my bridesmaids. That helped build up my excitement and get my mom's opinion.
The experience and service I received at European Bridal was unmatched by any of the other 3 boutiques I visited in the Reading Bridal District. We mixed up the appointment time and were an hour late, but they insisted we still come in when I called to apologize. They were able to still fit me in for an appointment and were happy to do it. The women there were so friendly when my Matron of Honor and I walked in. The boutique is gorgeous with dresses sparkling all over the walls. I was a very budget-conscious Bride and my consultant, Katie Blatt, was completely sensitive to that. She was very careful not to pull something out of my price range and when I found a few on the wall myself that I loved, she was very honest and upfront about their prices being higher immediately. Katie was very calm and nice and helped me narrow my dresses to two that I really liked. I ended up loving one out of my preferred price range and she worked with the manager to help make it for affordable for me. I wasn't able to commit to the dress that day because I wanted my sister to see it the next day who was flying in from NYC to help me shop. European Bridal isn't open on Sundays, but the Assistant Manager, Mary Aylward Lyon, offered to come in on her day off and open up the store just me and my sister, my Maid of Honor. It was so incredibly sweet and thoughtful. She could tell I loved the dress and it meant a lot to me to have my sister be a part of my decision making. My sister loved it too when she saw it and we made a third appointment for the following weekend when my Mother, Aunt, and Mother-in-law could come into town to see it. Katie helped me into the dress again and let me stay in the dress for over an hour while I made my decision with my family. European Bridal isn't a pushy boutique. They care so much more about their brides and making them happy and feeling special than they do selling gowns. I had one-on-one attention every time and I never felt pressured or rushed at any of my THREE appointments. The managers were able to work with me on the final price and I was able to afford the dress of my dreams! My dress came in after about 5 months and I'm so excited to pick it up and try on MY actual dress this week! I can't say enough good things about European Bridal and all their staff. I highly suggest every bride-to-be make this boutique their first stop on the search for their perfect wedding gown!
Spontaneous visit but found my gown! Came in off the cuff after I saw a gown online I thought might be carried there. The gown was there! The manager and consultant were immediately and incredibly helpful, attentive and patient. I ended up going with a different gown than I thought I'd wanted...a dress even better (in my opinion) and am thrilled. My experience at European bridal was relaxed, fun, and most of all I felt supported there. Thank you.
I had a great experience with European Bridal! I found European to have a lot more inventory than other stores to accommodate what I was looking for. My consultant, Katie, was easy to work with and really listened to what I did or did not like about the dresses I tried on. I love my dress from European and can't wait until it comes in!
I worked with Shirley from European Bridal and she was fantastic! Such a sweet lady, so willing to help and cater to what I wanted. I had an image in my head of what I wanted my wedding gown to look like and I couldn't find it anywhere. Shirley and I discovered that if we put two dresses together from the same designer and added a few things here and there we could get exactly what I wanted. Shirley and European Bridal worked with the designer and myself back and forth to draw up sketches and a custom design for my dress!! I absolutely love my dress and very much appreciate all the extra work they did to help me get exactly what I wanted. Now I have a custom design and a dress I love. I highly recommend European Bridal and a special thank you to Shirley and JoAnne. Thank you!! -Alyssa
European Bridal was the second dress shop that I visited when looking for my wedding gown. Claudia chose dresses that she thought would fit my style. It only took two dresses to find the right one. It was amazing and I knew as soon as I tried it on that it was perfect for me. Claudia let me walk around the store in it to make sure it was the right one. She was so helpful and friendly, taking pictures of my family and me once I had made the decision. I purchased my veil from European Bridal as well...everything about this boutique makes you feel special and important. It was truly a happy experience.
I went in with one dress in mind. Gina was wonderful and had me trying a few other styles to make sure that the dress was just perfect. She was knowledgable and professional. In the end I got the dress of my dreams. Staff was friendly and personable. The store has specialty dresses by known designers so the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend European Bridal to anyone looking for a dress of their dreams. They were able to rush order my dress so that I have time to make alterations. Thanks again Gina!
I was absolutely delighted with my experience at European Bridal. My sister and I are getting married within 6 months of each other so I only came in to see the dress she had picked out the day before and we ended up leaving with dresses for both of us. Not only were they so helpful but they made our experience even more magical when they served us champagne (Moet) and delicious cookies!
They were the only bridal shop that didn't try to shove sparkles and glitter down my throat--and thank God! I told them the style and look I was going for and delivered exactly what I wanted--and it was so fun too!
Very knowledgeable and kind staff. Would recommend.
I purchased my wedding gown from here in February 2013. After a rude and pushy experience at another local vendor, my mom and best friend and I wondered across the street to browse through this charming store. I pulled two dresses, which they were gracious enough to help me try on, despite not having an appointment. The second one was the dress, although I didn't purchase it then. I thought about it for two weeks and then returned with my mom for a scheduled appointment. JoAnn helped us and was amazing. She helped us pick out both a gorgeous belt and veil that perfectly accented the dress.
I did spend $2500 on my organza fit and flare gown + another $1200 for the veil and belt but it was well worth it. This did fit into my budget.
They also recommend a fabulous seamstress who perfectly brought my dress down a size, hemmed it to fit my flats, and altered the belt to make it look like it was attached to the dress.
If you have the money, this is the place to get your dress.
My mother and I had such a wonderful experience at European Bridal! We initially stopped in on the way to another bridal gown appointment in the Reading Bridal District. European Bridal carried the designer of a dress I had to see! Although the store did not have the dress to try on, they went above and beyond to help me figure out what I liked and didn't like. Mary helped us find and try on several dresses, even after she was made aware we had another appointment at another store to make. We were so impressed by their customer service and beautiful wedding gowns that we returned after the other bridal appointment. European Bridal was able to contact the designer of the dress I originally wanted to try on. Then, had a sample shipped to their store within 2 weeks. When we returned, they were just as pleasant and helpful as the first visit! After I decided on 'the dress,' they brought out a bottle of champagne for myself and my bridesmaids! They had completed a photo shoot earlier that day (I think) and were sharing the leftovers. Regardless, this was a very nice gesture and a lot of fun for everyone!
I cannot say enough positive things about this boutique! During each of the two visits, we always felt welcomed and never pressured to purchase anything. These attributes made for a very relaxed wedding gown purchasing environment. I would highly recommend!
I had gone to 2 other wedding dress stores ( in Reading ) before going to European. I cannot even express the joy and happiness I have for this boutique. When you first walk in the door you immediately feel the beauty and the quality of gowns surrounding you. It took me about 30 mins to find my perfect dress. I had a few ladies helping me out with fitting and questions and they were amazing. They knew everything about the customization of the gown I had chosen and gave me a lot of ideas and insight about the designer ( OLVI ) that I had gone with. This is the only bridal boutique in reading that had the long sleeve lace gown that I was looking for. They made my dream gown come true.
I spent a day in the bridal district on 3/22/2014. I went to European Bridal first. I had an appointment with Shirley, who was very nice and excellent. She asked me what I was interested in and my price range (I told her $1500 or below) and she picked 10 + gowns that were within my price range. I found 3 that I loved, which was alot, and I couldn't decide. I then went to another appointment down the street and went to a few of the discount stores to try to buy a dress off the rack. I consider myself a discount shopper, but I really did dislike the experience at the off-the-rack shops. I also went to Lace Couture (I think that is the name) with an appointment and the attendant was not nearly as helpful or as good as getting me into gowns and clipping my gown to fit. I did find other dresses that I liked that day, but in the end, I was still thinking about the first 3 dresses from European Bridal so I went back. Shirley made time for me again, this time without an appointment, and helped me try on all 3 gowns again (a few times) and she never made me feel rushed. I ended up buying a gown that I would never have picked for myself, but Shirley found it and it was the one. The service I received from Shirley is probably what really sold me on the gown and the shop. I will remember my bridal gown shopping experience positively based on this experience, and I am happy for that! I am hopeful my dress will come as expected (they told me late August 2014 for my Justin Alexander gown) and that the alterations will go well as well.
I live in Chicago but grew up in Northern KY and after several searches in the Windy City came home to do some bridal gown shopping with my mother...and boy am I glad I did! I was convinced there would be a better selection of dresses in Chicago but my Mother swore that "bridal row" over in Cincinnati had several great options and she'd selected the one she heard about from several friends - European Bridal. From the moment we stepped in the store Katie was pleasant, easy to work with and friendly; she took the time to listen to what I had already tried on, my likes and dislikes and brought me several stunning gowns to try on. Toward the end of our visit she said "one minute - there is one you need to try on if you love trains (I do)." It was a Justin Alexander with an extra, matching detachable train...and after weeks of searching I put that gown on and had my princess moment (or as I call it the Sound of Music moment....remember how Maria has that awesome long dress and walks up that super long aisle?!). Who knew the last dress at the last appointment would be the one. A BIG thank you to Katie for her instincts and patiences. The store is determined to help - they ordered the dress I wanted, ensured the belt it came with was what I wanted (Katie has to email me pictures back in Chicago), and even ordered a matching train from technically another sister dress to get me the look I wanted and get the dress in on time (did I mention it was March and I'm getting married in July 2014?!) My 4 star rating for service is only because in their excitement to get me what I wanted I felt for a moment they were going to try to convince me to order a dress a size down to ensure it would come in and not have to be rush ordered...I insisted on a size up to have room for alterations and not have to stress about what I eat the next 4 months...they made it happen - the dress arrives June 1! Beyond that they are a 5-star establishment all the way and on par with stores in Chicago in terms of dress selection, quality (and actually a bit more cost effective than Chicago - bonus!). I would highly recommend this store to any bride - you'll have a fantastic experience.
Lots of selection. Dresses are pricy.
I just bought my dress on 1/11/14 from here and I had the most wonderful experience! Mary was my consultant and she really knew what she was doing and worked really hard to give me the best. I didn't have a huge budget and this is a higher-end store but even then, she went out of her way to make sure she pulled dresses within my budget and did what she could make sure it was reasonably priced! She listened to what I liked, gave her honest opinion about each dress and when I found things I loved about other dresses (that were out of my price range), she'd find one that I could afford that had exactly what I was wanting! I ended up with the first dress she pulled out for me and canceling all my other appointments for the rest of the day! Not to mention, it wasn't what I thought I'd want but it looked so fantastic and I fell in love with it. I recommend this place 110% and I encourage you to let these ladies do what they do best...everyone there knew the product really well and created such a warm atmosphere.
Today (1/11/2014) I purchased my wedding dress in your boutique! My consultant's name was JoAnn and she was honestly such an integral part of my experience wedding dress shopping. The minute I walked into European Bridal I instantly felt like a princess. JoAnn hand selected all my dresses based off my taste, was personally helping me in and out of every single dress, and was more than willing to give me her professional opinion with each dress I tried on! I can tell you that every other place I looked made me feel like I was just another bride. JoAnn went the extra mile to personalize my experience and truly cared about what I wanted.
Your boutique is absolutely beautiful, personal, and has made my experience wedding dress shopping one I will never forget!
Thank you so much for your incredible customer service!
A very happy bride
I had such a great experience with Gena at European Bridal. From the moment I walked in with my mom, sister and niece, Gena was extremely welcoming and attentive. She walked me around the store to show me the various styles and encouraged me to try on different styles. The first dress I tried on was spectacular. As I tried on other dresses, I kept going back to that very first dress. At one point I thought I was in between two styles and she had me close my eyes to imagine that big day as I'm walking down the aisle. At that point I knew the first dress was for me, not to mention the tears it brought to multiple eyes. Gena was not pushy and was more than accommodating when I decided to leave the store for a few hours while I contemplated the decision (based on price) and waited for a future bridesmaid's input. Gena was also great with my 5 year old niece and gave her two tiaras which thrilled her! I'm so happy that Gena and everyone at European Bridal helped me to say "yes to the dress!".
I walked into European Bridal just to get ideas for my dress late on a Saturday afternoon. I was by myself and I wasn't intending on buying or finding my dress that day and I did! The personalized attention, selection of dresses and boutique feel were all wonderful! I found my perfect dress and to I couldn't be happier. The team at European Bridal have been a joy work with and my experience there was fantastic! I would recommend checking out European Bridal to any bride-to-be.
