LaBelle Winery Reception posted 10/23/2013 (modified 10/23/2013)

I worked with Jessica Bellanger, she is wonderful! She is calm, supportive, creative, and flexible! My wedding was wonderful--despite the rain! The great room is beautiful, a wonderful mix between rustic and classic. The food was wonderful and my guests were raving about it! I enjoyed having my reception there, it was only a 20 minute drive from my beautiful ceremony at the United Church of Lyndeborough, a historic church with murals inside and mountain views outside.

Couldn't Have Asked For More! posted 11/23/2014

My wedding at LaBelle Winery could not have gone any better! Everything was perfect the day of, and the staff was amazing. The coordinator Amy was amazing! She made sure we had everything we needed and during the planning process she was their by our side answering every question we could possibly think of. I would recommend LaBelle to anyone looking for a beautiful and classic venue. Definitely 5 stars to them.

LaBelle Winery/Fireside Catering Venue posted 6/15/2014 (modified 6/15/2014)

This is the first time I’ve written a “not glowing” review – so, I want to be sure to differentiate between the positive and negative.
First the positive: LaBelle Winery, as a venue, is really nice. The “Grand Reception Room” is open, airy – and has lovely views. The room also opens up to a very large terrace (where we had the ceremony.) It was a wonderful space. The other part of the event was the cocktail hour – which we chose to have in the LaBelle Wine Cellar – very cool. LaBelle is a unique venue, with great ambience for an elegant, informal wedding.
OK –here’s the negative. The only caterer allowed at LaBelle is Fireside Catering – which has a good reputation, but, our experience was less than good. I can only refer to the “Director of Sales and Events, Catering/Event Manager” who was our liaison. (There is more than one.) She was very enthusiastic during the initial sales pitch – but, once we committed, she was hard to reach. Rather than make the planning experience easier for us – she made it more difficult.
The following are just a few examples:
We scheduled a meeting to choose the Hors d’oeuvres . She did not send us the choices in advance. When we got to that meeting, she started reading the list from her computer. We asked her for a “print-out” and she said “No” – she had no hard copies and didn’t have a printer – she would tell us what they were and we needed to choose “on the spot.” After we insisted that we see the choices (in writing) before we chose the 5 hors d’oeuvres -- she finally agreed to forward the list she was reading from to us.
We wanted to figure out our budget, so asked her to identify those hors d’oeuvres that had a per/person “upcharge”. She said that none had an “upcharge” . After numerous conversations, she said that some came with an “additional” charge – not an “upcharge” (even though an “upcharge “ was the word mentioned in the initial sales packet she gave us. ) She would not tell us which HD’s had this “additional upcharge” . She said we should send her our choices and she would let us know if any carried an additional charge. According to her – all five did.
She made three billing mistakes – so, we kept getting additional bills. The first one came with an email suggesting I call her with a credit card number for payment. I called – she took down all my CC information. The next day, I received another email from her saying she “misspoke” – Fireside actually didn’t accept credit cards and I should send them a check instead.
At the last meeting, two weeks before the wedding, she told us we needed to do something she had never mentioned to any of us before. This sent us scrambling to get additional pieces, at the last minute, for the place cards. It went on and on…
We had hoped that having a catering/event planner would make planning the wedding easier. Even though LaBelle is a wonderful place to have a wedding -- she made it much harder than it needed to be.
