My wife and I had the pleasure of spending our wedding weekend on at the pine peaks event center. We were staying at the house from Oct. 3rd til Oct.7. Out of all the decisions we made when setting up our wedding, choosing to have our groom's dinner and reception on the Peterson property was the best we made. We looked at hotels and wineries and nothing seemed as perfect as the Pine Peaks Event Center. It is truly a beautiful location and the seclusion really allows for strangers of the different families to bond.
We knew from the first time we spoke to Dave that this was the place for us. I don't believe he ever said no to any of our requests. For instance, over this past summer my parents flew in from Florida and on short notice Dave was able to give us a tour and run down all the options for us. Never once did it feel like we were just another couple. The Peterson's really made us feel special. The exact feeling we wanted as we prepped for our big day.
So, we had booked the location 14 months prior to our wedding, and the amount of improvements that have been made to the property were immense. The road was paved, the reception hall was improved, and the patio was finished. The place looks better everyday.
My mother decided she wanted to go all out for the groom's dinner, since a lot of our guest traveled from Florida and other parts of the country. But due to the request of the bride, she was not allowed to use the reception hall. So Dave and Julie turned the outside patio into a beautiful party hall, complete with sound system and a dance floor. At one point my mother asked Dave if he could dim the lights, and all she got back as a sure. We found out later that at the time he did not have a dimmer, and just ran up to the store bought one and installed it. That was the attitude we came to expect of Dave and Julie and we were never disappointed.
For the Wedding Reception, we had it in the reception hall. We had brought a ton of decorations, but over the years Dave and Julie have acquired a huge collection of decorations, and with them we were really able to tie everything together. This was Julie's expertise. She stepped in and helped my wife with everything she could possibly need. It was crazy. And on the night of the wedding, they were there to ensure that everything ran smoothly, and it did.
Finally, the house. What a great retreat location. We had our bridal party, parents, grandparents, and a few extra friends stay there. We all had plenty of room. My father-in-law and I were the only ones to make use of the sauna, and I can tell you from experience it is a really nice touch. I think the most popular spot of the whole house was on the deck centered around a very unique tabletop fireplace. I am still not sure how to describe it was, but it was really a hit. The second biggest hot spot was the man cave down below. Every night you were sure to find a multitude of people down there shooting pool, drinking beer, and just enjoying each other's company. It was just one of the many things that made this house so amazing.
My wife, my family, and all my guests truly could not recommend this place any more. All anyone has been able to talk about for the past week was how nice this location for the reception was, how nice the house was, but most of all how nice Dave and Julie were, We thank them so much for everything.

I had my wedding at Pine Peaks Event Center this past December and loved it!!! The owners were so incredibly helpful, we rented the house Thursday-Sunday so we were able to spend 2+ days decorating and Sunday for gift opening and taking things down. It was perfect.

My experience with Pine Peaks Event Center couldn’t have been more beautiful. From the beginning, they were gracious and hospitable hosts for our wedding weekend. I will never forget the kindness shown by Dave and Julie Peterson, their newlywed assistants Mike and Cassie, and Maucieri’s caterers, Jodi and Dewey. They all worked together flawlessly to make sure this day went seamless. I know people do things for the bride so she doesn’t have to think on that day, but I never expected every tiny detail I had forgotten to be attended to with such delicate care. I think they even put in an order to mother nature the day of the ceremony because our special day was surrounded by days of rain, fog, snow, and wind. But on our wedding day, the sun came out, the wind stopped, and it was just warm enough to hold the ceremony outdoors… in November… Up North… We are very grateful and feel blessed to have had our celebration at Pine Peaks Event Center with Maucieri’s. Ooooooh, the food. All my guests raved at how amazing the food was. It’s been two weeks, and we still get compliments about the food. If you want good food at your wedding, don’t even think about asking them to host another caterer. Pine Peaks with Maucieri’s work. I don’t see how another caterer could top the service we got. I’m not sure how much more I can boast about these wonderful people without sounding like a bag of hot air. All I know is the happiest day of my life so far was spent at Pine Peaks Retreat and Event Center, and nothing made me any less than that.

Everything worked out great and our wedding was truly a memorable event. The few issues that came up were resolved immediately by Dave and his staff. We had a wonderful time and would recommend Pine Peaks to anyone -- I cannot say enough about the value of having a 'one stop shop'! It was so nice to have the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, dinner, reception, etc. at one location! Not to mention lodging for ourselves and our wedding party. Wonderful experience, thanks again!

When my son's fiancé announced that the wedding and rehearsal dinner would be in MN, I was immediately overwhelmed as we live in South FL. The worry of having to plan an event long distance was quickly put to rest after meeting Dave and Julie. They were extremely helpful and never seemed to tire of my endless questions. I had both of their cell numbers and exchanged many emails during the planning stages. Once I arrived, we worked side by side getting every detail just right. The event center is beautiful and well-maintained and there are many extras available (i.e. - decorations/sound system/lighting. Our party was a huge success - the venue, Dave, Julie and Jodi, and the bar and food catered by Maucieri's made that possible. Overall - picking the Pine Peaks Event Center and Maucieri's was the best decision made by the bride....next to picking my son as her husband!

Dave and Juile went above and beyond our expectation for our wedding day!! Scott and I had a beautiful wedding that was flawless, a day we will never forget!! There is not another place out there quite like Pine Peaks Event Center and we will recommend them to many!! Thanks a million to Dave and Juile- and all the best in the future!!

All I have are good things to say about this venue from the very first day that we went to check until the wedding day. I had found this venue when I was looking online and it is very close to my now husband's family cabin. He went in the winter to go look at the venue. He immediately called me and told me that I had to get up there right away to come look. So I called Dave and told him that I would be there in a few hours as I was still in the twin cities. When I got there not only was Dave there ready to greet me and show me around. They had the cater make us a brick oven pizza. Then a few weeks later they held a wedding expo at the venue with all of their preferred vendors. This was immensely helpful. We did not know of any vendors up there and this was a perfect way for us to book them. We got to meet all of them and decide whether we wanted to use them or not. This also was much easier then coming up multiple weekends to meet them or do it by phone or email. Every time I had a question I could email Dave and he would get back to me that same day. He was responsive to all of the questions that I had. He also was very helpful in the planning process. He gave us numerous ideas for how previous couples had done their weddings to help guide us through this process. Julie was also fantastic. She was always there helping with decorating and giving me different idea. She let us use anything she had there. She had so much for center pieces and decor that we did not have to buy much beyond what she had. As for the weekend of they were there every step of the way. We got there on Thursday to start setting up and Dave was there already setting things up. Julie came on Friday to help us set up for the wedding and the rehearsal dinner. On Saturday Dave was there right away in the morning to see how everything was going. They also were predicting rain for that day so Dave went and got weather forecast for the surrounding areas for us and we talked through what to do regarding setting up for the ceremony. We thought that the rain would end up missing us and it did not. Dave and Julie went out into the rain and helped the groomsmen take in all of the chairs. Plus they helped wiped them all down. They even helped find people who had parked in the parking lot that were in the shots of the pictures and asked them to move their cars. They went way above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. We would recommend them to anybody they are such wonderful people. They are so helpful through out the entire process.

I was pregnant while wedding planning and having our wedding at pine peaks was the best thing we could have done.it was so beautiful we didn't have to decorate much and the cabin made an amazing weekend trip!!

I don't see very many reviews by grooms and that is why I wanted to take the time to post a review for Pine Peaks Retreat & Event Center.
Let's just start off by saying that this venue was absolutely perfect. My wife and I wanted things to feel and look a certain way and Pine Peaks exceeded all of them. The privacy of the grounds was ideal and every one of our guests felt like the event wasn't just for us, but for them as well. After all, we wanted everyone to celebrate our commitment to one another with us. Not to mention, EVERYONE HAD A BLAST! It was so much fun.
The food catered by Maucieri's Italian Bistro and Restaurant was also amazing. Some of my friends still bring up how good it all tasted to this day. The partnership between the two are not only perfect but also one of the many things that makes Pine Peaks very unique.
Pine Peaks also offers a Retreat Home that our bridal party stayed in with us. This offered all of us to hang out and prepare for the wedding on our terms. Between playing pool and having bonfires, the retreat home was great. I definitely recommend utilizing it!
I wanted to thank owners Dave and Julie Peterson for their great hospitality and hard work. Making sure every wedding goes off without a hitch has to be a lot of work but they did it without batting an eyelash.
I would recommend Pine Peaks Retreat & Event Center without hesitation.

I am so happy that we chose Pine Peaks Event Center for our wedding. Dave and Julie were so wonderful to work with and having the wedding there helped create the wedding of my dreams. From the first visit that we had at Pine Peaks we fell in love. Both Dave and Julie were so accommodating to us while we were there looking at the site and thereafter. They were flexible, professional and responsive to all of our needs and concerns. They really were willing to go the extra mile to work with us and make sure we had the wedding that we wanted. All throughout planning Dave was quick to get back to me on all my questions....which were many. All of my questions or concerns were answered immediately during the planning and I never felt as if we didn't get what we needed. The wedding weekend was perfect. Dave and Julie and their interns were there to help us address every need as we set up. They helped in setting up last minute items and make sure we were ready to go for out day. On top of it, the Pine Peaks Center staff were great during the wedding. Everything ran perfectly, smoothly and you never knew they were even there, other to take care of things when they went wrong. It really was the best day of my life and I am so glad that we chose such a beautiful spot to have our wedding at - the staff, owners were amazing and attentive and the grounds, event center, decoration and retreat house were just beautiful. Thank you so much to Pine Peaks for such an amazing day!

As mother of the bride I can report that this venue was the most amazing facility anywhere in this region! Pine Peaks is WELL WORTH every penny of the investment! The attention from the owners; Dave and Julie was extremely appreciated. Julie has every style of décor anyone could want...from rustic to classic to eclectic and more. She has an amazing designer eye and offers help when asked, otherwise lets you create your own special look. She surprised us with lots of extra great pictures! The grounds are phenomenally beautiful.....Dave was beyond a gracious facilities manager....it is obvious they both work extremely hard to make this a dream wedding location. The event center was ideal....we danced SERIOUSLY HARD and the sound was perfect! The kitchen was praised by both catering companies we hired and I used the kitchen in the event center several times....great space. We cooked delicious pizza from Maucieri's in the pizza oven and it was like eating in Italy. The house is something straight out of the "rich and famous".....comfortably designed to accommodate a lot of people which the wedding party loved staying in for 4 days. I'm trying to figure out what corporate event I can take back. The deck was perfect for a late night rest by the fire. Since the day our little girl held her first Barbie she has been acting out her wedding day....her little brother and sister can attest to hours of "dress up" where she got to be the beautiful bride. Pine Peaks made her wedding dreams come true....that's pretty cool, Thank you!

Pine Peaks Event Center has everything you could ever want in a wedding location. The beautiful landscape provides for a beautiful outdoor ceremony, and with the reception hall steps away, your guests don't need to waste time driving to new locations. The owners spend time with you helping to set up and tare down, so that you can relax and just enjoy your moment. I would not be able to imagine my wedding being anywhere else.

I have been putting this review off because it feels like a monumental task to try and put into words how amazing our wedding experience was and how wonderful the owners (Dave and Julie) were from the day we first contacted them until the day we checked out.
We decided to check out Pine Peaks Event Center due to the glowing reviews we found online and we were not disappointed. Five minutes after pulling into Pine Peaks and meeting Dave and Julie we knew it was where we wanted to get married. We were married at the end of June 2013 and spent 5 nights in the house along with 15 or so of our closest friends and family. Being able to spend a couple of days before and after the wedding gave us plenty of time to not only set up and tear down, but to also experience the Crosslake area. Being from the twin cities it also allowed us some time to escape the big city and enjoy the piece and quiet of the area. While only being 2-3 hours away, it felt just as much of a destination wedding for us as it did for those that flew in from across the country and stayed with or near us.
The grounds are stunning, the house is amazing, the reception area is perfect...words and pictures just don't seem to do it justice...and it's possible that in the minds of our guests it was even overshadowed by how memorable and delicious their caterer's food was ( we had/recommend the bacon blue cheese potatoes, salmon, and stuffed chicken). We have gotten more comments than you can believe about the food and how fun the wedding was. Personally, my favorite part is that the grounds provided options for people that didn't want to dance or sit around a loud reception area and talk over the music. You could sit and have a drink by the fountains and flowers, you could sit by the bonfire (we put out s'mores kits), we had some yard games set up, people were up at the house in on the screened in porch talking around a gas fire...it was really more like a fun party than it was a wedding. There's no doubt in my mind that our guests that told us it was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to were being genuine. Having the house, ceremony, and reception all in one place really adds to the day not having to waste time driving or worry about better people from one place to the next.
Dave and Julie clearly love what they are doing and in our opinion are doing it right. They realize someone's wedding should be one of the best experiences of their life and we were happy to have had them be a part of ours. Their "what can I do for you attitude", responsiveness, and not wanting to push people to clean up and get out so they can rent out the grounds to someone else the next day is a refreshing and inspiring frame of mind in today's world. If you're looking for a place to get married and "just" want it to be beautiful you can find any number of places anywhere, but in my opinion, you will not find a place that will match Pine Peaks simple/surprising beauty along with the all-in-one wedding site and helpful and caring owners who aren't going to charge you for every little thing they provide or do for you. We hope one day to rent out the house for a weekend and celebrate our anniversary with our wedding party/family/friends...I fear though as word gets out that open weekends are going to be few and far between :'(

The Pine Peaks Event Center is beautiful inside and out! Up North Minnesota is truly God’s country!
The venue is close to the small town of Crosslake but it’s just few miles away so it has that “out in the country” feel. Our guests had no trouble finding their way from the church in town to the Event Center.
There is a lot of room for people to mingle inside and outside. The grounds outside are beautifully landscaped. Many of our guests enjoyed the outside areas near the pond and on the patio. The kids enjoyed having a place to play outside in the grass too.
The bar area is large and well laid out. The staff did a great job serving our guests.
The dining room is very well decorated for any event. We provided some of our own table decorations and we were able to use many of the decorating items that Dave and Julie have. We had a beautiful regal table instead of using the more common head table layout. It was a great way to get our family together!
The meal provided by Maucieri’s Catering was excellent. They offer a huge list of menu items. The taste testing was fun and a great way to sample several of our top menu choices. Tony Jr. and Jodi were easy to work with and they made the process stress-free.
The late night pizzas made in the pizza oven were a huge hit. They disappeared as quickly as they come out of the oven!
Dave and Julie are great hosts; they made the whole experience easy. They accommodated our needs and were ready to help us with all of our requests.
We highly recommend Pine Peaks Event Center and Maucieri’s!

Pine Peaks Retreat and Event Center made this the most perfect day of my life so far and I know it would not have been the same if I hadn't discovered them. Consider your normal venue where they nickel and dime you for every "extra" and you better have the place cleaned up by midnight. I couldn't imagine having to plan a wedding like that and luckily, I didn't have to. The wonderful Dave and Julie own this venue. They have a clear passion for wedding's, pleasing people and for making your wedding the most perfect day of your life. Dave and Julie always responded to my emails and questions quickly. During the wedding “week" they were always there to help move things, set things up and - yes - tear things down! They want to accommodate YOU. We rented the retreat house from Wed - Mon for the wedding and had all of our closest friends stay with us. My friends had to fly in from around the country so getting to spend extra time with them was amazing. Every night was spent playing games around the fire table on the huge screened in deck. It felt like a true destination without the headache. Julie buys and collects beautiful decor which is all available for the bride to use at no extra cost! She has everything from birch logs to bejeweled vases. She has the tea lights, mason jars, the chair and table sashes - EVERYTHING! I went there with nothing for the centerpieces because I knew I could make something amazing with what they already had. The food was catered by Maucieri's, a local restaurant that has worked with Dave and Julie to build a gorgeous prep kitchen at the venue, and people could not stop ranting and raving about the food! I can't count the number of people that came to us after and said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I would do it all over again. You truly can't go wrong choosing them. For one of the most important days in your life, make it last a few, go with Pine Peaks, Dave and Julie, so you can take your time and enjoy every moment.

Dave and Julie the owners of Pine Peaks Event center were so wonderful to work with from the time we booked the event to the very last minute of clean up. The Event Center, grounds and the house were more than we could hope for. I said this before but who needs an event planner when you have Julie, she is so creative and helpful she did things I would never have expected. Dave was there in the morning and stayed until he knew the event was running smoothly. They made our experience one of the best we have ever had. The salon in the house was absolutely wonderful for the girls to get ready, I will have Dave post the young ladies name we used from the area, she did exactly what the girls wanted. The vendors they list on their website are the ones we used and they too were wonderful to work with and we had no problems with them. Thank you for making Alyssa's and Jordan's one of the best weddings we have ever been to. our guest were telling us this all night long. I highly recommend Pine Peaks Event Center to anyone.

Pine Peaks is a wonderful wedding venue. We were married there two years ago and we were invited to the Wille / Boesen wedding on June 8, 2013. The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony and the grounds were beautiful. We came early on Saturday for brunch with the wedding party and watched Dave and Julie help the bride and groom get all of the details finalized. Maucieri's Catering did a great job with the food served at the reception and they even had the Chef introduced and Chef Dewey introduced the menu for that night to the guests. Very classy. This venue offers a very unusual experience unlike any other venue in Minnesota. We would highly recommend them to others.

If couldn't have dreamed for a better wedding! The setting at this venue is out in the country, in a small town which gives it a rustic, timeless feel. We had about 230 guests and had plenty of room. Dave and Julie were amazing to work with. They both are willing to help you make the wedding exactly what you want and they also help by offering suggestions - plus, you are able to use the wedding decorations they have accumulated (LOTS) to make the place look amazing and they help you along the way. We also rented the guest house next to the event center for our wedding party and had an awesome time. It was really nice for our wedding party to be able to get to know each other before the wedding day and there are tons of things to do (fitness room, pool, games, movies, etc.). We had the place for the whole weekend and never felt pressured (we had all of Friday and Saturday to set up, plus we didn't have to take the decorations down until Sunday). So many of my friends who have got married say that they didn't really even have time to enjoy their wedding because they were so pushed for time and busy. I never had this at all! We spent the day on Friday setting up, Saturday getting hair/makeup done and Sunday packing to leave - Pine Peaks allows you to have a wedding without the rush and stress that most places have, which is priceless on the biggest day of your life!

Dave and Julie (owners/managers of event center) were so welcoming and helpful throughout the entire wedding process. They were very professional, kind, and always willing to help.
The event center itself was highly customizable, and we were able to make personal touches to make the wedding “ours”. At the Event Center you have access to a room full of decorations to use at your discretion.
The guest house (where our wedding party stayed for the weekend) was spacious and a great place to entertain and prepare for the wedding. It also would have been a great place to stay for a weekend away (even if we had not had a wedding at the Event Center). It was helpful to have the guest house just a few steps away from the Event Center.
Overall, the best thing about having our wedding at Pine Peaks Event Center was the privacy. We were able to host a wedding with about 150 guests (could have had more) on private property and lodge next door for an entire weekend (unlike at many resorts when you have to deal with other guests, other events, and sometimes even other weddings going on at the same time).
We cannot recommend the Pine Peaks Event Center more highly.

We had our wedding at Pine Peaks Event Center on July 21, 2012. One word to describe our experience; Fantastic! From the first time we met Dave and Julie until our wedding was over, they were always welcoming and friendly. They were easy to work worth and very personable. We used the Event Center and the Retreat House. The wedding party stayed in the Retreat House Friday through Sunday-- We were able to decorate all day Friday, and have the Groom's Dinner under the pavilion that night, and Saturday after our wedding we didn't have to worry about cleaning up or being out at a certain time, we were able to wake up Sunday morning and take everything down and leave when we wanted. There was no pressure about leaving, as there was not a certain check out time. The whole weekend we didn't need to worry about others watching our wedding or random people walking by, like you would have at a resort. The grounds are beautiful!! We had our ceremony outside and it was gorgeous. They came and mowed the grass the morning of the wedding so there weren't any grass clippings, and they weeded the flowers so everything was perfect! Dave and Julie had a lot of decorations we got to use at no additional cost; vases, rocks, candles, waterproof lights, and flowers are just the beginning of the list. There was a projector and screen that could also be used at no extra charge. The tables, linens, chairs, and table skirting was all included in the price. The ceiling draping are already hung up for you, and Julie decorated our head table for us. You really have to go there and see it to truly appreciate everything they have to offer. It was everything and more that I could have asked for in a wedding venue! I would highly recommend Pine Peaks to everyone.
