We held our wedding recpetion at J.G. Domestic in the Cira Centre this summer. We put a lot of effort into it and were delighted with how it turned out - this wouldn't have been possible without the many vendors involved, and of course a lot of credit goes to the Garces team that worked so hard on the actual day of the event to help it all come together. We really had fun at our reception, and so did our guests, and we couldn't have been happier.

We really enjoyed the cocktail hour in the bar area (the pergola gives it an open, airy feel) and the dinner in the main area (they do a great job with the space). And of course, the food is top notch. Not only in the quality of the food, but also in the amount of food and variety of selection that is available. We opted for stations - the food was plentiful and the presentation was great.

Thank you again for a great wedding reception.

My wedding at the Cira Centre was a little over 200 people. I had a band and there was plenty of space for the dance floor to stay packed all night! It's a few months later and my family and friends are still talking about how great the food was. I had an amazing experience at the Cira Centre.

When I started to look at venues, I knew I didn't want a traditional ballroom. I toured the Cira Centre and even through I had a hard time envisioning how it would look for our wedding, I knew that the Garces name meant that I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. The night of the wedding, the reception was even more beautiful then I could have ever imagined. The view of the city skyline at night looked so beautiful in my wedding pictures.

I could not have chosen a better venue!

Top Notch posted 10/6/2013

When we were checking out venues for our September 14th wedding reception in Philadelphia, we discovered JG Domestic at the Cira Centre.  The number one requirement on our wedding venue list was the food so selecting a Jose Garces restaurant to take care of the event, we knew that would be delivered.
The venue was much more unique and chic than most Philadelphia-area wedding venues. The beautifully decorated restaurant has a more rustic feel and the Cira Centre architecture and all glass windows provides an outstanding view of the Philadelphia skyline which brings a modern element to the space. Unlike other venues, there is more of an opportunity to get creative with the layout of the reception space and decor.
At the time, the venue itself was newer to weddings than most of its competitors in the area but from the beginning, the Garces Group blew us away with their hospitality and passion for food. Our wedding coordinator, Caitlin and the rest of the Garces staff  greeted us warmly and ensured we were taken care of every time we visited during the planning phase. We were able to customize our cocktail hour offerings, drink selections and menu and we were blown away by the quality, creativity and overall presentation. Jessica, the pastry chef met with us to create the most amazing wedding cake. We let her work her magic and the result was better than anything we could have envisioned. The cake (and macarons) were a major highlight of our reception. On the big day, the reception space looked unbelievable. Caitlin and her team fulfilled all our special requests and worked with our florist to fulfill our vision. The service and treatment that we were given the entire time was very much appreciated and it exceeded our expectations. Our family and friends are still telling us it was the best wedding they have been to (and best wedding food, hands down).  We highly recommend this venue if you are looking for outstanding food and service in a unique space!

Garces Exceeded our Expectations posted 7/8/2014 (modified 7/8/2014)

I am so grateful that we chose Garces Catering for our wedding, and the Cira Centre as our venue. Needless to say, I was a bit worried putting everything together, but when we sat down with Caitlin, our wedding coordinator, I really knew that we had nothing to worry about. She was always cheerful and able to offer simple, beautiful solutions to our questions. She returned emails and phone calls quickly, and even agreed to a last minute meeting the day before she left for her maternity leave.

When we met with the chef for our tasting (this was only 4 weeks before the wedding-they hold it that late to make sure all the ingredients are in season), we consulted with the pastry chef, Jess Mogardo for our cake. We really had no idea what we wanted, but she came up with a few options and the end result was beautiful. I happened to mention that the first thing I ever made for my husband when we started dating was a lemon ice box pie. On our wedding day, Jess surprised us by finding and making the very same pie that I had made for my husband years ago. We were truly moved (and very happy to finish it off at home!)

Nearly every guest we've spoken with has told us that ours was the best, most fun wedding they've ever been to. From the food (which included several vegan options, and a cake bar), to the music provided by No Macarena, to the exceptional service from the Garces Catering staff, we truly couldn't agree more.

Just one note! We didn't think we needed to put the entrees on our invitations since we knew the orders would be taken tableside. Fortunately, Caitlin worked this out for us, and we ended up serving duet plates to each guest, but make sure you at least know what your entree options will be so you can include them on your rsvps!

We had our wedding at the Cira Centre on September 21st. It was the most amazing day of our lives and we owe much of it to Garces Catering at the Cira Centre and their amazing staff. Caitlin Boshnack and her team were so accommodating and wonderful to work with. We've received rave reviews from our guests as well. From the beauty of the venue to the amazing food, I would highly recommend The Cira Centre Atrium at JG Domestic!

Wedding @ the Cira Centre posted 10/1/2013

We booked my daughter's wedding at the Cira Centre at the first wedding expo there. It was February, 2012; 18 months prior to the affair. I believe we were the first to book which took an incredible amount of faith in the Garces Group. We were looking for something different than the country club/center city hotel affair. We were tired of being asked how we wanted our steak, only to have it come out inedible every time. We were expecting food worthy of an "Iron Chef." We were not disapointed. It was a pleasure working with the Garces staff from beginning to after the affair. They were accomodating in every way possible. The waitstaff were extreemly well trained and cohesive. I can be very critical of restaurants and service, however I found nothing to complain about. My only regret is that I have no more children to marry off.

Late Summer Wedding posted 9/29/2013

Organization during a majority of the planning stages was lacking and we worked with three event coordinators.

The first coordinator was not organized and not responsive to phone calls and emails. She was the person who set up the original contract. We also set up the food tasting with her.

She neglected to tell us the pastry chef would be at the tasting. We had not considered cake designs and do to the lack of communication we were unprepared. We had also discussed with the coordinator to potential of having braised short rib on the menu. This was not communicated to the chef and we did not get to try it at the tasting.

There were 3 payments scheduled by the first coordinator. We paid initially to reserve the date, and then they forgot to charge us for the second payment (It happened a few weeks later). They emailed us asking for the final payment 2 weeks early. That was resolved and the final payment was made on schedule.

They put a groom from a different wedding on an email to this bride.

The second coordinator we worked with was more responsive than the first but not much coordination happened during this period.

The third coordinator, Caitlin, was great. She was responsive and organized. She had answers to all our questions and when she didn’t she provided an answer as soon as she could. She had to ask us about all the details of our event again but I was glad she did. That way we knew she had everything correct. I felt that she took ownership of our wedding and wanted to make it memorable. Honestly, if it weren’t for Caitlin the whole planning process would have been frustrating.

We definitely had doubts about their ability to execute a reception when we were planning. The lack of coordination showed and we felt that they weren’t taking ownership of our wedding reception as we, the customer, had to be proactive and set up meetings.

The initial lackadaisical approach didn’t affect the execution of the event; it did add some stress to the planning aspect of the reception.

The reception was fantastic. A lot of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We had an amazing time and didn’t have to worry about anything on the day of the event. A lot of other guests also complimented the service of the wait staff, the uniqueness of the venue, and the quality of the food.

One thing we really liked about the venue is we could drop off items, such as candy bar supplies, and flip-flops for dancing, prior to the reception (Friday morning). Also, we didn’t have to pick anything up until Monday after the reception. This was a wonderful perk because it meant we didn’t have to coordinate cleaning up after the wedding and could just focus on having a great time.

If Caitlin had been involved from the beginning we would have provided an overall rating of 4 stars. However due to the lack of coordination for the 6 months prior to Caitlin, we rounded the overall average to a 3. I would anticipate that with her involvement now, there would be no further coordination and communication issues and I would recommend this venue.

I was 3000 miles away during the planning stages of my daughter and son in laws wedding on August 10, 2013. She worked with a wedding planner and was given a budget 10 months before the date.

I saw the venue for the first time, one month before the wedding. It met every expectation that my husband and I had for the special day.

When we walked into the center the evening of the reception, it was magical. Erin and crew went above and beyond our every expectation! From the cocktail hour, service, setup, colors, flow, EVERYTHING was perfect without one single flaw for the 190 guests.

The food met the expectation one would have being connected to JG Domestic. I even remember every single item on my plate!! Every guest raved about the food!

Erin also worked closely with me concerning a slide show presentation that was a surprise for the bride and groom. She helped to work out every single detail without our daughter ever knowing anything until the moment it was presented. She even made sure that she sent this back to me after the wedding.

We were blessed to have found this venue and Erin and her crew. Truly a very special place.

We had our cocktail style wedding at JG Domestic in April and the event was flawless. I honestly don't think I can find one complaint about JG Domestic and their team. The food was AMAZING, 4 months later and I still have people raving about it. The wait and bar service was excellent and everyone was very attentive to guests and particularly to the bride (myself) and groom, making sure we were getting drinks and food brought to us when it looked like we couldn't step away from guests. They decor is simple but so beautiful. It was definitely not the traditional ballroom wedding but that's why we loved it. They hung candle-lit mason jars from the trellis and between that and the city skyline backdrop, it was perfect. JG Domestic is not your traditional wedding venue but for the couple that's looking for something a little different with amazing food, I would highly recommend having your wedding, or any event for that matter, here. We were so thrilled with everything.

Our wedding reception was flawless from start to finish. Not only was it stunning in appearance, but the service was flawless as well. Our guests raved about the food and drinks and everything and anything I requested and went over with the coordinators, was fulfilled. Thanks to the people at garces catering and events my husband and I had the best night of our life.

Our guests widely agreed it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding (after all, it was Garces food).
The setting is fantastic...all the glass gives the appearance of being outside, yet it's climate-controlled and covered from rain.
The staff did a good job of transforming the space from our ceremony to tables while our guests were in the restaurant. I am not always easy to please, but we couldn't have been happier with our choice of venue.
