Simply an amazing venue... I fell in love with it since the very first day I saw it. Staff are supper friendly and proffecsional. Vicki is the best and the greatest help.
Beautiful Location - Easy planning process. The Musical Director is amazing. I downloaded the piano notes for "our" song from musicnotes.com and send him a link to a You Tube video and he played the song at the end of the ceremony. Great acoustics!
We were blown away by the beauty and the service at the chapel. It was so gorgeous and all of our guests are still raving about it! Laura Krauss was a wonderful officient and we definitely felt like she connected with us during our meetings with her. The "donation" is a bit expensive, but if you are able to save money elsewhere, it is entirely worthwhile. Our photos are amazing!!
I booked here because its breathtaking. And it did just that. Take everyone's breath away. We are going back every year.
We got married at Wayfarers Church. It is an amazing chapel. It is a glass chapel with views of the ocean. I felt like I was in a crystal cathedral by the ocean. They have a lot of weddings so your time there is limited. And if you want to get married during peak wedding season there is going to be a waiting list. But otherwise it was perfect.
I had my ceremony on a September morning and it was simply gorgeous there. The coordinators were very efficient and helpful. It can be a little difficult to find a nearby reception site other than Terranea.
This is the most beautiful place to get married. The chapel is amazing and Reverend Barnes was great!!!
Absolutely beautiful! It's like having an outdoor wedding without worrying about the weather. Beautiful, real chapel. Simple and elegant. Staff is very professional, very easy to work with, and know how every minute should flow. Seamless in execution. Different days and times have different prices. We did Sunday at 4pm and it was $3,000, so a little pricey for sure. They allow you to be on site for only 2 hours - an hour before the service, then the service into departure time. In other words, our ceremony was at 4pm, we arrived at 3pm and departed at 5pm. There is a small dressing room for the ladies, best for touch ups and hiding out.
They have about 4 to 6 different ministers/pastors that you can choose from. We have Dr. Reverend Donald Barnes. Great man!
They also offer their own video service, 24kt Video, which is totally worth using! They use 4 different cameras that are already set up, to video you from front and behind. You're own photographer won't be able to go up front, so this is almost a must. They also offer a 2 hour deal, from arrival to departure. The video service does cost extra, from about $700 on up, but is worth it.
There are many areas around the chapel that make for wonderful photo opps. Views inside & outside the glass chapel, green grass, large trees, many different flowers, benches, stone walkways, fountain, steps, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
I totally recommend this place. If you can swing the cost of this, cut back on other things in your budget, then it is soooo worth it. Very memorable for both us and all who attended, since not everyone has seen a glass chapel before. Our focus (money) was on the ceremony, with keeping a more simple (less expensive) reception. Everyone loved the chapel!
You cannot beat the location or the venue. Not with a 10-foot stick. It's amazing. Reverend Teri Masters was PHENOMENAL. I was nervous about getting a random person to marry us, but she was so perfect. Laid back, funny, accomodating, and really smart. The only tiny minor thing is that this place is a bit of a wedding factory. The wedding planners are effective but our families were more stressed out after the rehearsal than they were during the actual ceremony due to being herded around and having orders barked at them. But overall, totally awesome.
The is an amazing wedding venue. It is gorgeous, and if you are like me, and don't want to do much for the ceremony, this is the place! They do pretty much everything and recommend vendors who they have worked well with.
The only thing I was not crazy about was the day of wedding coordinator, who rushed people out, even though the next party was not here. As soon as your time is up, you are out of there!
I had such a great experience at Wayfarers. It was a bit of a splurge for our ceremony budget, but it was everything we wanted in a location. Outdoor feel, but still a chapel. Our guests were impressed by the intimate feel of the ceremony, and the view of the ocean on the chapel grounds. Your time there is limited, but you can make the most of it.
We had our Wedding on April 7th 2012.
It's amazing how organized and helpful people at the Chapel are. I was worried that 2 hours is not enough, but it was no rush, we took plenty of pictures and had the most ammazing ceremony.
Thank you,Olga & Ben Devitt
We fell in love with Wayfarers Chapel from the moment we first visited this chapel many years ago. It made such an impression on us that it was our first choice when we decided to have a small wedding ceremony with our closest family members (the venue only holds 100 people). The inside is simply beautiful... with all the indoor plants framed inside a glass chapel. We decided to have a candle-lit evening ceremony and although it was a very foggy evening, the chapel was stunning even in the fog. The registration process was easy and the coordinators made it nice and simple. Reverend Mitchell was so fun to work with, and he allowed us to personalize our ceremony just as we wanted. Although the price was higher than we expected, it's completely tax-deductible and goes towards the chapel. We are extremely happy that we chose Wayfarers for our Wedding venue.
My parents were married here in the 70's and I always dreamed of getting married her. After much research and visiting other locations we chose Wayfarers as our venue. Its $3000 fo 2 hours so make sure you are on time! The views and the glass chapel is second to none! We really liked out Minister too, would highly recommend!
This was the perfect venue for our ceremony, not because it was built by the son of my favorite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright...Lloyd. But the fact that it was surrounded by nature...the mountains and the ocean on a beautiful day. The chapel was just the right size and no decorations necessary, the coordinator and staff new what they were doing and kind, the cost was considered a contribution so we can place it on our taxes :) Our guest have mentioned that the pictures was breathtaking, but to see it person left everyone speechless and humbled to see how beautiful the work really is and the everyone's worries just melted away. We plan to come back for our kids baptism.
This place is spectacular if you can deal with only having it for 2 hours. Love that is comes with a coordinator. The only thing they/we forgot to put out was the "guest book", but other than that - everything was perfect.
This was such a STUNNING chapel! If you are a lover of nature and natural settings, this is the place to wed!
This is the most romantic place to get married ever! When I was talking to my mother-in-law about my dream wedding location, I told her my fantasy place would be a glass chapel on a cliff over looking the ocean. I wanted it to look like Big Sur or Hawaii and ideally in between LA (where we live) and Orange County (where our family lives). When she told me such a place existed I about died. You must look this place up. Their website is www.wayfarerschapel.org.
The only downside is it is very popular. In spring they do a couple weddings a day so they don't let the flower girls drop petals and you can't throw rice when you exit the church. You should also book early. I called in July and wanted to get married in Spring the following year. They only had a few days left, but we did get a Saturday in April at 2:00pm, which is exactly what I wanted. The weather was perfect and you could see all the way to Catalina. They also do gorgeous night weddings. Their lighting is amazing. It truly is a fairly tale location. They provide all the flowers so that was great. All in it was only $2,500.
The ceremony was beautiful with lots of special touches like giving roses to each others mothers. You should also ask them about getting a brick engraved with your names and wedding date. As I walked up to the chapel it was so special seeing our names and wedding date already placed in the walk way. It will be there forever as a testament to our love.
Wayfarers Chapel was not only beautiful, but the staff was professional and they made sure that everything ran smoothly. The best decision for our wedding was choosing this chapel.
Words can not describe the natural beauty of this location. This is the most breathtaking chapel we have ever been. On our first glance, we knew this was where we wanted to have our wedding. The minister and entire planning staff from the chapel are gracious and kind. All of our guests commented on the beauty of the property and more than half said it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever been too. I can't say enough great things about this ceremony site!
