My husband and I got married at ZED451 this past May. When we first visited the venue, we immediately fell in love with it! The rooftop was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious! Throughout the entire wedding planning process, their on-site wedding planner was extremely helpful and was there to answer any questions we had. Our wedding day went perfectly and we have the staff to thank for that! Everyone was extremely nice and helpful - I still have wedding guests tell me how much they enjoyed our wedding. I would definitely recommend ZED451 to anyone who is looking for a beautiful place to get married!
Our wedding was already a couple months ago, but family and friends’ compliments are still rolling in about how much they loved our brunch wedding reception at ZED451.
With the help of their friendly event planners (shout out to Sammy!) our whole day was amazing.
Sammy helped design the perfect late morning/early afternoon brunch wedding reception that included a “cocktail hour” with some fantastic, light passes appetizers, mimosas and Bloody Marys (or coffee, or soft drinks if they wished!) to entertain guests after our ceremony while we went to take photos for a bit, followed by an AMAZING brunch. Seriously, when we started our reception venue search, food was the most important factor for us and after visiting ZED451, we knew it was THE place for us and hosting a brunch reception was going to be a super affordable option for us to make it all possible.
Having a brunch reception is a little bit off the beaten path, so guests weren't sure what to expect and we were happy to surprise them all even more with all of the wonderful food. Besides "best wedding food ever" a lot of people have let us know that we have ruined bacon for them at any other restaurant ever. Bacon will never be the same for them anywhere else. Trust me, their bacon is amazing.
While we weren’t doing everything that day the traditional way, my husband and I did squeeze in a “first dance” and a cake cutting photo op, but other than that, guests were able to eat, drink and mingle for the afternoon in their very pretty private event space. Their lovely Fireside room and Mezzanine were the perfect size for our 65 or so guests. The spaces are warm and modern—definitely not a boring banquet hall set up or backroom stuck away in a hall. And since it was such a gorgeous spring day, some of the guests popped out to their very cool rooftop bar to enjoy some of the sunshine.
And the service is INCREDIBLE. They have an entire team of servers for food, drinks, whatever you need. The meat servers were always around to offer guests plenty of choices and guests’ glasses were never empty with their beverage of choice. Again, all of our guests were incredibly impressed and so many of them are still raving about it.
Just some other notes: We had our ceremony at another location, but ZED451 will let you host your ceremony in their Fireside room or even on the rooftop area, so if that is something you are interested in, let the event planners know! Also—and this is just really the icing on the cake—ZED451 has a complimentary shuttle that was able to drive some of our older and less-mobile guests from our ceremony site to the reception. Then the shuttle even swung back to take the bridal party out to the Wells Street Bridge for some photos. If you’re planning your transportation logistics, you KNOW this additional service is worth its weight in gold.
And, speaking of CAKE, ZED451 also has an amazing in-house pastry team that will create amazing desserts and also wedding cakes.
Overall, I can’t recommend ZED enough. We were able to host such an incredible and AFFORDABLE day with great food and service, spending time with all of our favorite people. It was just the best.
I had originally contacted Zed 451 about a year and a half before my wedding. I was looking for a venue that would hold about 75 people for a dinner wedding. Sammy, one of the event coordinators, replied within 24 hours. My fiance and I went and had dinner at Zed 451 and fell in love with the food, the service, the dining concept, and the restaurant. It was so beautiful and modern, but would go well with our fall wedding theme. Unfortunately, it was a bit out of our budget. Later down the road I took a friend there for brunch. Brunch was amazing and I just wished I would be able to have my wedding here. I emailed Sammy again and she let me know that they did do brunch weddings...Score!!! Brunch fit much better with our budget and the food is amazing. Sammy was so wonderful to work with. I sent so many emails over the 8 month period of the wedding and she always replied quickly and always was upbeat and super sweet. She met with me several times before the wedding. The day of the wedding she was there making sure all went off without a hitch. The wedding could not have been better and I am so happy I went with Zed 451. My guests were amazed at how beautiful the space was and floored by the quantity and quality of the food. The service was great as well. If you are looking for a smaller venue still in Chicago I highly recommend Zed 451. I am so happy I got to have a wedding in the city for my budget and not have to go out to the suburbs. We even got to have out cocktail hour on the roof! I overheard many guests speculating that the wedding must have cost a fortune. I feel we got such value and great service for our money. I will continue to go to Zed 451 and hopefully one day have another reason to use their private event space and Sammy!
I had my ceremony, cocktail reception, and dinner reception at Zed. They did an absolutely outstanding job and allowed us to customize our event. I had so many compliments on how cool the venue was (including cocktail reception on the rooftop), how great the food was, and how incredibly attentive the service was. They also did a great job with my cake. The restaurant had some great areas for pictures and there is a park about 2 or 3 blocks north where we did some additional pics. The only thing I would have put a little more effort into was clarifying with ZED about the valet parking. I think that some people ended up paying for their own (which is NOT what I wanted) because they didn't know it was supposed to be complimentary. We also allowed our guests to order from the liquid market menu (awesome cocktails) which was a big hit. The big thing for me was that so many people told me how much FUN they had at my wedding...(which is what I wanted). When compared to every other venue that I looked at, the pricing for ZED made it such a great value.
Not only is the venue unique, the food fabulous, and the service top notch, they also have little added bonuses that make your wedding day perfect! For my day, I was able to use the shuttle vans to transport my wedding party and photographer around the city free of charge. The tables and chairs are very nice so there was no need for linen rental or seat covers. If you time your festivities right, you get the use of the rooftop deck for your cocktail hour free of charge. Our wedding was truly unique and everyone was impressed thanks to ZED451!
