I want to start off by saying that our reception was awesome. The fact that the food, bar, flowers, and cake were all available in house and contributed to room minimum was a big plus. Chef Andrew and his team made amazing food, the cake was delicious, and Mark did an incredible job with our centerpieces and the flowers. It was great that the venue is attached to and owned by a gourmet market. Dan was the event manager. He was on site the night of the event and anticipated our every need. I was a masters student right up until a week before the wedding so I needed a team that I could trust to take our vision and run with it. They definitely did just that. Everybody had a great time that day and my husband and I will always appreciate the work and effort they all put in to make our day go smoothly and be memorable.
That being said, I wish there were ratings for individual people La Sala. When we first saw the space, we loved the exclusivity and modernness of it, and the wedding coordinator that was working there at the time. Unfortunately, she went on medical leave shortly after that and never came back. We wanted a very unique reception and she had a bunch of ideas to bring to the table. Since I was a grad student at the time, I needed somebody with ideas. She was replaced with a former server who was just going through the motions for what most weddings are like. I understood that we weren't going to get much in terms of ideas from him, but he was not easy to get a hold of, which is frustrating when you have a very busy schedule (2 jobs and a full school schedule while writing a thesis) and you are planning a wedding out of state. Since email was the primary means of communication, it was even more frustrating when he claimed to not get emails from me, one of which was confirming the menu for our tasting. My husband, his parents, and I were going to be in town, but when we got to the venue, they had no idea that we were coming in for the tasting and the wedding coordinator was out of town that weekend. Instead of contacting me to find out why I hadn't sent him the menu selections even though I did, he just went out of town and assumed that we weren't coming. As a testament to how amazing the team behind the scenes is, they put together a tasting within the hour and it totally redeemed the experience. Then he left just a month before our wedding and his mom replaced him. The only problem we had with this venue is that they can't seem to get somebody to work in the event planning office who is good enough to be the front man to the team they have cultivated in the other departments.
It was really important to me to have a Modern-Lofty type of wedding & La Sala is just that. For some background: I'm 26, a choreographer, really into fashion and modern design.
The coordinator you'll speak with is Robert. He's totally amazing and really wants you to get the most for your money.
It's only $1000 down (which is applied to your balance) to secure your date and their minimums depend on the time of year, so you'll have to call for that information.
Everything is brought in through Papa Joe's (HUGE selling point for me). Food, flowers, linens, cake and liquor (I may be forgetting some) is all handled. The only thing I had to find myself was the DJ.
I was able to have a bloomberry ice cream machine for my wedding. There isn't anything Robert couldn't do. So many things were negotiable. I could move sofas, the dance floor, even the bar. The only thing I couldn't move was the support beams.
The florist knocked my socks off. I'm not the kind of person to bark orders at a vendor so I gave him my ideas, he RAN with it and he came back with more than I could imagine. My wedding looked like it came out of a magazine.
I asked for a houndstooth cake and I got it for an awesome price. That still blows my mind.
There is a bridal suite with a personal bathroom and shower. It's very lovely. My Groom and I enjoyed some private time in there during the cocktail hour.
We got so many compliments on our wedding, especially the food. We were able to accommodate vegans & vegetarians with actual meals, not just some beans and potatoes. The details I wanted were executed perfectly and didn't go unnoticed. Robert stayed there the whole evening to ensure everything went smoothly.
As a bride who doesn't have that “bride gene,” it came out as a result of Robert and I was able to embrace planning and our entire wedding. I couldn't be more pleased.
My daughter was married in August 2012, and we used LaSala for her reception. SO many guests commented on the fantastic food (especially the filet mignon!), the amazing cake, and the beautiful and unique flowers. The room's lighting and set-up helped create a memorable event. The staff were very attentive and helped everyone have fun. Derek, our DJ from Mike Staff Productions, was so much a part of making this party the best we could have hoped for!

Was held at la Sala in October of 2009 and they did a lovely job of working with us to create the vision that she's always dreamed of. Mark in the floral department was amazing and we could not have imagined prettier flowers. Everyone was so wonderful to work with from the valet to the wait staff to the banquet manager - the food was absolutely outstanding!! I honestly would have given them 5 stars if it weren't for the location. We had a few guests get lost and there was no one to answer the phone whenn they called for directions. The sign is not visible from the street. In the end it was a GREAT event...the best wedding I've ever been too!
It is brand new and modern and the perimiter of the room was lit in pink lights and the bar lights up and they have great glasses and drinks and amazing food. It is not your typical reception hall;the staff is very difficult to work with and they have a high turnover rate.
