Des Moines: Wedding night hotel?
Q. I’m excited for my wedding day, but also know we’re going to be worn out after all of the festivities. We’re looking for a relaxing place to spend our first night alone as husband and wife. Any suggestions?

A. Why not try a local bed and breakfast? Unique accommodations are sure to make for amazing wedding night memories. The Bellagio Suite at Well’s Bed & Breakfast (515- 251-4724, WellsBedandBreakfast.com) features a dual-head, walk-in shower for two, Jacuzzi whirlpool, and private enclosed porch for total privacy. What better way to spend your first hours alone? You could also try The Butler House on Grand (515-255-4096, ButlerHouseonGrand.com), which is a sprawling Tudor home built in the early 1920s. Book the Master Suite for a jetted bath for two and beautiful treetop views from its 18 windows. And if you’re not leaving for your honeymoon right away, consider staying more than just the one night -- you may be too exhausted to fully enjoy the atmosphere after all of the wedding day excitement.
