Vendor Reviews:

Wedding Site (A) Calamigos http://www.calamigosequestrian.com/ The food was good, the site provided what I wanted, an outdoor ceremony and a very nice looking ballroom. They have 3 outdoor sites to get married at and 3 ballrooms to choose from. We booked our wedding at the Calamigos located in Burbank. During the wedding planning process I did not get the customer service that I felt we deserved, considering the fact that we were spending a pretty penny. In the end everything came together, ran smoothly and looked great. They also provide a free day of wedding coordinator, and she was great!

Florist (A+) Mr. B's Flowers www.mrbsflowers.com I worked with Sharon and she dealt with all of my changes. I changed my mind soooo many different times as to what I wanted. Sharon also let me bring in many of my own items such as my chandeliers and she set them up for me. She understood my vision and ran with it!

Photographer (Pending Professional photos. Based on E-pics A+) www.MandyMariePhoto.com Amanda was great to work with, and we loved our engagement photos!

Cake (B) The Great Dane Baking Company www.greatdanebakery.com they charged me $500 more for the same exact cake that they did for another bride and it was smaller! Apparently they did not realize how labor intensive the cake was until after they mad the other brides. Well I loved her cake sooo much that I agreed to pay for it. Well the cake appeared to be leaning a little bit and I noticed that the fondant was cracked in certain places. I did not see the cake until after the ceremony so I can’t point fingers on the delivery person, because it could have been the florist when adding the flowers or anyone walking by.

Officiant (A+) Greg Mohr www.youmaykissthebride.com Greg did a great job! I have know complaints. He gave me several scripts to choose from, and I simply cut and paste from several to come up with one that I liked. He was not overly dramatic as he appears to be at times on the phone. He was excellent!

DJ (D) DJ Debonaire- Richard Poston www.djdebonaire.com I truly wish that I would have interviewed several DJ’s. This was the one vendor that I went with without consulting others. He did not play the music that I quite anticipated. He also played our first dance song right before our grand entrance, and the first dance was right after the grand entrance! So he basically played our song back to back. He told our Best Man, that we owed him $250! I don’t know why he did not just consult with us after the wedding on that. We paid him every penny that was stated in the contract. Apparently he made a mistake on the contract and demanded more money from us at the wedding! That was totally unprofessional and rude. We apparently also owed him for 30 minutes of overtime. Our photographer and videographer both agreed that if it ran over a little they would not charge us anything, you would think it’s just a nice gesture to do, but not for him!

Gown (B) Alfred Angelo www.alfredangelo.com Well of course I absolutely 100% loved my gown (in the end of course) I ordered my gown 1 year in advance, and lets just say that it took one full year to get the dress. The first gown came in completely defective. I had to wait months and months after promises that they would get me the correct gown. When I finally received the gown it was in okay shape, but still had minor changes from the original, apparently they changed the model slightly. In the end their seamstress, Mary who is an absolute joy to work with, made my gown look like a couture. My gown was inexpensive and guests thought it was a $3,000 gown or so. Mary created a gorgeous French Bustle which I decided to sport down the aisle. Best alterations you could ask for! Besides the hassle of getting my dress everything was great. I also ordered my bustier, 2 crinolines (which I dyed pink), and my veil from Alfred Angelo.

Shoes (A+) Zappos www.zappos.com – My pink shoes came in right away! Free shipping, and was even upgraded to free shipping overnight. My shoes were at a great price and I absolutely loved them!

Videographer (Pending) - Isabel Gonzalez www.isabelgonzalez.com- great to work with gave me an extra free bonus in my package. It’s always great to ask for freebies the worst that can happen is they say no.

Reception Gown (A) ABS- Allen Schwartz loved the gown, gorgeous!

Hair Pins (A) Erin Cole Accessories a bit pricey, but I loved them. I decided to wear my hair down, so did not end up using my hair pins. Oh well!

Invitations (A+) My Gatsby www.mygatsby.com embellishments-DIY- My Gatsby was great to work with. I got exactly what I wanted. Be sure to order their samples before making a decision. I was very satisfied with the quality of the paper, ink, and overall invitations. The ink was thermographic. One warning, you have to draft your invitation out on their online template, and it is a bit cumbersome.

Tuxedos (A+) Friar Tuxedos- Ralph Lauren www.friartux.com- let’s just say that the guys have it so easy!

Parasols (A+) Oriental Trading Company www.orientaltrading.com The best deal I could find on the paper parasols. I originally purchased them for shade while in the sun at our outdoor reception. It ended up raining on the day of our wedding (which I hear is good luck!) The little things came in handy for the small droplets that were off and on during the ceremony. It rained just enough for good luck, but not too much to rain on our parade.

Soon To Be Mrs. Hoodie (A+) www.ebay.com- purchased for about $15, but it looks like the vendor went up on the prices a bit. Ebay seller- spoolofdesign

Chandeliers (A+) www.ebay.com - I did a search for shabby chic chandeliers, and found the best deal I could. Ebay seller curiowarehouse. I also received a slight savings I shippig for ordering more than one.

Rhinestone Initials for bridal bouquet (A+) www.bouquetjewels.com They were perfect! http://www.bouquetjewels.com/mongrams.htm

Hanging Rhinestone Initials for BM’s bouquets (A+) www.theparadogngifts.com The girls loved them! They hung on the stem of the bouquets. http://www.theparagon.com/jump.jsp?itemID=17661&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=rhinestone&productPrefix=WW

Paper Lanterns (A+) Purchased orange and fuchsia from a little store in Chinatown near downtown LA on Broadway. My florist hung them, there was a fee involved but they turned out soooo amazing!

Rhinestones (A+) http://beadsfactory.com/products/?sfID1=7&sfID2=6&sfID3=36&productID=442- used them for my invitations, save the dates, rhinestone numbers, and many more diy projects.

Ceremony Music (A+) Ryan Hutchison- Ryan was awesome! He was the cheapest I found through craigslist. He sent me a free demo, which was great and agreed to come to my rehearsal for free!

BM Monogramed Tote Bags (A+) www.ebay.com They were sooo cute! Ebay seller the_pink_cricket. The bags were a little smaller than I anticipated, but the girls loved them. I ordered different colors according to the girls favorite colors.

Tiffany & Company (A+) Each BM also received a Return to Tiffany Heart pendant necklace. The girls were so shocked that they got a gift from Tiffany’s. The BM’s wore them at the wedding. They are the smaller new ones, not the big clunky chain ones (which I also love), but these were very dainty for the wedding. http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/item.aspx?CategoryID=472&category=Jewelry&c_id=WEB1&c_it=A105&start_id=1&

Rose Petals (A+) Michaels Arts and Crafts. We used real petals, with the exception of the fuchsia pink ones at the end of my runner. Our florist put them down into the shape of a large heart. I had to buy a million boxes for the size heart I wanted.
