VENDOR REVIEW
Dress: Pearl’s Place B+
The dress came in on time and was in great shape.
However it was way too big. The tag was correct but
I''m not sure if the sizing problem was due to the
size chart I was provided, whether I was measured
in correctly, or if the designer cut it wrong. None
the less my seamstress did an outstanding job and
by the wedding day it fit perfectly. Also it was
$300 less than in stores.

Gown: Angelina, style no. 4006 (I think)
Cake: Little European Bakery, Vicky A
No good pics of it close up yet. It tasted great
and I just described what I wanted to Vicky (I
didn’t have a pic) and they nailed it. (Piped snow
flakes with edible ‘snow’ sprinkled on it). It was
important to my DH to use them as he had gotten all
of his cakes there growing up. They were only
about $60 more than Publix and the service we got
was fantastic.

Alterations/Veil: Rodica Lazarian Designs A++++++
Rodica was fantastic! She is amazing at what she
does and has a way of keeping everyone calm and
happy. I choose her based on recommendations of
friends and recent newlyweds. She is extremely
professional and dependable and she is a
perfectionist…your dress will fit you perfectly.
Initially her quote seemed high to me but my dress
was extremely fitted and had come to me two sizes
too big her perfessionalism and expertise were
worth every penny.
She gets an extra gold star for keeping me calm
when, at my final fitting 5 days before my wedding,
she couldn’t get my dress zipped up. I’d been on
steroids for hives and had swollen up like a
balloon. She simply rescheduled my final fitting
for the Tuesday before my wedding with pick up on
Wednesday letting me know that everything would be
fine and that worse case she’d have plenty of time vto let it out if need be. I ended up returning to
my normal size minus a few pounds by Tuesday but
her reassurance that either way it would be fine
really kept me from melting down that Friday.
On a side note she also has an extensive collection
of headpieces and veils that she designed (priced
comparable to the dress shops I visited). She also
is a designer and can make you a dress to your
specifications. She appeared on the Early
Show/Today Show? a few months back with their Today
Show bride, I believe she had done the gown.

Flowers: Flowers by JoAnne A+
The flowers were beautiful and JoAnne was so on top
of the game throughout the entire planning process
that I didn’t sweat it when she was about 15
minutes late to the church. She hadn’t gotten
caught in traffic and was so apologetic. She is so
nice and genuine, I really enjoyed working with
her. The designs were great and they were just what
I’d asked for.

Hair and Make-up: Scoobie West A+++++
What a fun guy, and boy did we look good : ) I have
never looked better than I did that day-Never.
Scoobie is unbelievable and was so much fun. He
knew there were a lot of us so he brought an
assistant to curl hair and apply foundation, she
was great too. But I thought that was a great idea
to make sure that we had plenty of time. One of my
BMs that wasn’t going to have hair and make up done
ended up getting hers done after seeing how nice
everyone turned out. It was so nice to see my girls
beaming b/c they felt so good. I just can’t say
enough good things about Scoobie.

Reception/Catering: Doubletree Guest Suites-
Atlanta Galleria (Wendy Smallwood) A+
The site was beautiful and required nearly zero
decorating. It was the perfect size for my wedding
of 140. The food was delicious, the staff very
friendly and helpful, Wendy the coordinator was
great. She seemed to catch every detail I mentioned
from the first time we met to the final phone
calls. Everything was done to the letter how I
requested and that which I did not specify was
handled better than I could have possibly imagined.
They also gave us a free wedding night suite. It
had 2 balconies that opened up a story above the
reception area, a large spa tub, and a separate
sitting room. The site’s performance and final
appearance really exceeded my expectations.

DJ/Photography: Orpheus and Aphrodite (Terrilyn and Chris Bayne) A+
We heard about Terri and Chris through friends and
really liked Terri’s photos online and thought both
of them were so cool in person. They both did such
a great job and we really enjoyed having them
around on our special day. Chris got people dancing
that I’d never thought would be out on the dance
floor, true sign of a great DJ in my book. I’ll
give a more detailed analysis after I get the
proofs back but I know they’ll be awesome.

Video: SCG Productions, Ben Morgan A+ (for performance day of)
Ben and his assistant did a great job we hardly
knew they were there. I can’t wait to see our
video, his demos were so cool and different but
still professional. Our photographer enjoyed
working with him so much that she asked me for his
contact info so that after viewing his demo, can
suggest him to their clients.

Chapel: Log Cabin Chapel, Smyrna GA, coordinator/organist Kathryn Cooler (B-)
The site is so cute and the price can’t be beat but
we had a problem when on Friday I came to decorate
the chapel at 1:30pm and no one showed up to open
it until 2:30pm. The coordinator said that my mom
had told her 2:30pm but she has the email where she
had agreed to 1:30pm. Luckily I had some very
talented friends with me b/c my FI and I were to
meet with our minister who was in from OOT from
2:30-4:30pm with the rehearsal starting at 4:30pm
so I had no time to decorate once it was finally
opened. My friends were so amazing and went above
and beyond what I had a pulled in greenery from
outside and really decked the place out. Also I
wasn’t hear for this part but apparently as the
ushers were going up to light the candelabras,
guests already there, (that belonged to the chapel
and contained the same candles that the chapel had
put in them), the organist/coordinator told them
that they needed to be the dripless candles from
the other building so they had to run over to the
other building and switch out and light all of the
candles. All in all though I think the price and
atmosphere far out weighs these set backs.
