The wedding party met at Blaine High School for Jen and Seth’s “first sight” – the same place the couple first spotted one another their freshman year of high school.

From BHS, the group boarded a bus - on which champagne and one of the couple’s favorite movies, “Wedding Crashers,” provided entertainment - to take them to historic Main Street for pictures along the riverfront. Jen is wearing Maggie Sottero, her bridesmaids are wearing Mori Lee, and Seth and his groomsmen are wearing ties from Express and suits from Savvi Formalwear.

The attire and reception décor were mainly black and white, while splashes of green - such as the bridesmaids’ pashmina shawls (a gift from one of the maids of honor) and jewelry (made by Jen) - infused character into the color palette.

Jen and Seth fell in love with the ruins courtyard at the Mill City Museum as soon as they visited it together. Despite the somewhat chilly October evening, the couple opted to have their short ceremony outdoors and is glad they did: the architectural details were highlighted against the night sky by dramatic lighting, providing a remarkable backdrop for their nuptials.

Inspired by the brickwork in the ruins courtyard, Jen and Seth decided to incorporate the same shape into the décor motif for their reception, reflected in elements such as the square vases of varying sizes at each table, the rectangular cutouts on the picture frames at the guest book and gift tables, and even the decorative jewels on the menu cards at their dessert buffet*. *The couple selected their wedding date because it was the seven-year anniversary of their first date. Incidentally, the 17th of October was also The Sweetest Day, making their choice of a dessert buffet particularly appropriate! Catering by D’Amico and Sons. Flowers from Petersen Flowers at the Minneapolis Farmers Market, assembled by the wedding party, Jen’s mother, and Jen’s godmother.

While the celebration took place inside – with a full dance floor for the entire evening, much to Jen and Seth’s pleasure – the couple took a moment to sneak a newlywed kiss outside the museum’s entrance.
