Wedding Invitation created by the bride who is a Graphic Designer & Photographer. A custom "logo" and border were illustrated using the hand painted wall designs of the Colony Club as inspiration. Letterpress, blind emboss and foil techniques were used. Custom wax seal created for the envelope which were handmade using a metallic, embossed, woodgrain paper.

Votive candle place setting illuminated guest names. Rings designed by Catherine Iskiw. Vintage pin used as brides hair piece. Two inch brass bells in a variety of shapes used as favors and in place of tapping on glasses for a kiss. (brassbells.net)

The newly restored Colony Club in Downtown Detroit was the location for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Candles were used to add a romantic feel throughout the building in addition to flowers. The bride wore a nontraditional ball gown style dress which matched the vintage ambiance.

Floral arrangements provided by Vivianos. Table centerpieces included hydrangeas, hanging amaranthus and rust colored alstroemeria. Vases purchased at www.saveoncrafts.com. Bridal boquet made from varieties of cream, white and blush roses.

The nontraditional bridal gown sparkled with beaded accents and metallic, antique gold and bronze lace. The matron of honor contrasted the bride in a light, taupe layered dress. While the Jr. Bridesmaid and flower girl wore brown satin gowns with a taupe ribbon and broach which echoed the bride's hairpiece.

The groom wore a classic black tux with ivory shirt and taupe vest and tie. Combined paisley and stripped patterns. As a wedding gift to the groom, the bride presented powdered wigs for him and his men. He often commented on how he wanted the wedding to feel like old fashioned ball. It provided great entertainment and photo opportunities.
