We took photos before the ceremony and West Meadow Beach on Long Island Sound proved to be the perfect spot. I wanted my gown (from Priscilla of Boston, Vineyard Collection) to have some movement to it and to blow in the breeze; thankfully we had perfect weather and it did just that. This photo is one of our favorites from the day!

I wanted non-traditional, simple and airy bridesmaids dresses for the girls and I just loved how beachy and elegant these were! (Also from Priscilla of Boston)

The bridesmaids bouquets were simply a bundle of green orchids but they were so fresh they looked good enough to eat!

The ceremony and reception took place at the Old Field Club in Setauket, NY. The ceremony was held on the grounds overlooking the water.

After the ceremony we took some "alone" shots and this one really captures the emotions we were both feeling at that moment.

We made our own centerpieces with paper origami flowers, tree branches and tall glass vases. Also, some of the 1,000 paper origami cranes that we folded for the day were in vases on the table with descriptions of the significance of origami cranes to a wedding. Our color theme of green, silver/grey and white was well represented on the tables by the runners, origami and ribbons that wrapped the vases.

Our cake, baked by La Bonne Boulangerie in Port Jefferson, NY, was simple and understated. I provided the "swirl" design which echoed the swirls we embossed onto our DIY invitations as well.
