I called on my college roommate and bridesmaid—talented graphic designer Jill Carson—to create our stationary suite. The look was inspired by old woodblock show prints still used to advertise country music concerts in our beloved Nashville. Shown left: our postcard reply cards. A larger version (not shown) was matted and signed by our guests to hang in our home. For favors (shown right) we played on our last name—Bond—and the “bond” of marriage. Jill designed a tag that we attached to tubes of superglue (and gluesticks for our younger guests!).

A nod to Shakespeare's Hamlet: “There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember.”--Ophelia. My mother nurtured potted rosemary plants, one tagged in memory of each of our late grandparents, that we used to line the fireplace mantle where the ceremony was held.

My dad conspired with the owner of Riverbend Farm to make a wedding dream come true—an antique truck for our fun bridal party pictures. Our recessional song was Ray Charles' jazzy version of “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!” and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. Bridesmaids wore tea-length claret red dresses in various styles by Dessy. Groomsmen wore chocolate brown tuxedos.

Prior to the morning ceremony, our families and friends gathered in the restored barn over coffee and pastries. Tables were decorated with burlap overlays and antique lanterns filled with pillar candles and cranberries. The double doors were adorned with grapevine wreaths bearing our first initials.

Favorite candid shot. Cathy Gray's husband Bob captured priceless extra photographs in black and white like this one.

The first time I drove up to the front doors at Riverbend Farm, I knew we'd found the perfect setting for our Sunday morning wedding. It had a sense of history and tradition, but was a simple enough blank canvas for us to make it feel like our own for the day—a Southern girl marrying the son of a Colorado rancher. Our fantastic photographer keeps this red chair on hand for her couples. This is my favorite of our formal portraits: feels like it could have been taken a hundred years ago, when the Tennessee Walking Horses were still stabled at Riverbend.

Inspired by a local Nashville jewelry artist, I made gifts for my bridesmaids: stained glass beaded bracelets and necklaces, each set unique, but all adorned with a tortoiseshell guitar pick. Bridesmaids carried red hydrangeas and berries in posy boxes my dad built. Each chose her own bronze shoes, and I opted for red satin peep-toe slingbacks. I wove wedding gloves belonging to my grandmothers in among my ivory dahlias.
