ABOUT CHRISTA
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and have lived in Conyers, Georgia all my life. I am a junior at the University of Georgia, majoring in Public Relations. I want to continue pursuing a career in acting. However, I plan on using my degree in PR as well. I enjoy singing, acting, spending time with family and friends, and eating Cappaccino Blasts made with yogurt with no whipped cream or cinnamon from Baskin Robbins. My mom is and always will be my best friend, besides James, of course. My goal is to keep Jesus first in everything I do, especially in my marriage.
ABOUT JAMES
I was born in Arkansas and moved to Georgia when I was two. I grew up in Covington, graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, and now work for Cingular Wireless as a sales manager. I enjoy sports, preferably college football and playing Ultimate Frisbee and flag football. I also enjoy being with my friends. I am a Christian and am involved with my church. Christa and I lead a small group whose goal is to seek the Lord and to make Him known to everyone around us.
HOW WE MET
James and Christa met January 20, 1997. It all started on a January night in a Kroger in Conyers. James was working for Bellsouth Mobility in the kiosk at Kroger, and Christa was grocery shopping with her mom. When Christa and her mom walked into the store, James noticed her from his work station, while Christa's mom noticed him. She mentioned it to Christa, who agreed that he was very good looking. They continued shopping, and James continued looking. Every time they came down the aisles, her mom caught him looking and smiling. It was at the end of the shopping trip that Christa finally built up the courage, with the help of mom, to finally come over and introduce herself. She walked past all of the checkout aisles, pretending to look at the magazines. When she reached the last one, which was located near James' kiosk, she looked at him and said "so how long have you been working here?" This started their conversation, which led to a friendship that soon developed into a relationship and has grown over the past five years into something that both had hoped for since the day they met.
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
They were on a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida. They left on Saturday, and James knew that he wanted to pop the question there. He spoke with Mr. Piper the previous Tuesday, asking for his permission and blessing to marry Christa. On Tuesday night, the 4th day of the vacation, James began to feel that tug at his heart to ask Christa to marry him. After going out to dinner with the family, they had some time alone to talk. This is when James knew it was time. Christa knew something was up because he kept stretching and making sighing sounds, acting differently than he had ever acted. He and Christa were sitting across from one another, and James said to her, "I want to just look at you and talk about us." So after a few words, he asked her to close her eyes. He took out the ring, got down on both knees, and asked her to be his wife. At first, all she could do was cry. And after what seemed to be hours to James, she finally said yes! :)
