ABOUT IMAN
Iman Mitchell, 31 years old, grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. Iman's mother is Egyptian and her father is African American. She graduated with a BS in Business Administration. Iman's successful career in Human Resources has led her to Marriott International in Bethesda, Maryland as Talent Assessment & Development Manager. Iman enjoys water aerobics, bowling, traveling and playing with her two cats, Cierra and Laila. Her immediate goals include getting a real estate license, and being a good wife and a life partner to Husam.
ABOUT HUSAM (SAM)
Husam Oklat, or better known as "Sam" is 37 years old and grew up in Jordan; Husam is the oldest of two brothers and calls Chicago home. He graduated from the University of Jordan with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Husam enjoys all sports (football, baseball, basketball), reading, and traveling. Husam is looking forward to a long and happy life with Iman and cannot wait to start a family.
HOW WE MET
A mutual friend of theirs gave Husam a copy of an online-ad that Iman had. Husam felt the ad was too direct but trusted the friend and gave Iman a call. The first conversation was short and sweet. Nothing came of the phone conversation until a few weeks later, Husam called Iman and left a message asking if they can talk again. The message was sweet and sincere so Iman called him immediately and they ended up speaking for about 4 hours that night. For the next two weeks, they kept talking via telephone and getting to know each other. Their first date was magical; they both said they fell in love the second their eyes met. Something was different and special and the conversation was flowing, from there several other dates took place and the rest as they say is "History".
So love at first sight does not just happen on the big screen, it happens some where between Maryland and Illinois.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Husam and Iman knew that they were in love and belonged together so the proposal was sweet and private and un-planned. Based on Middle-Eastern traditions, they exchanged wedding bands. As for the rest of the story, some of you know the actual details!

It will be a blend of the Middle Eastern (Jordanian/Egyptian) and the African American cultures. Our goal is to bring our families and friends together and have lots of FUN! A great DJ will help us dance the night away in Arabic/English and latino music.
