ABOUT TIMOTHY
Tim was born and raised in Cambridge, Mass. He went to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Tim works in Human Resources at the Channing Lab in Boston and is a free-lance graphic designer on the side.
ABOUT CARRIE
Carrie is originally from Maine, went to college in Rochester, NY, and then moved to Boston after some time spent at home and in Edinburgh, Scotland. She also works at the Channing Lab, helping to put grant and human subjects applications together and keeping all of the paperwork (and a good number of the investigators) in line.
HOW WE MET
We met at work on Carrie's first day, June 6, 2000. We started dating Oct 6, though many work colleagues would swear it was earlier than that. It was clear within a few months that we had each found our soulmate.
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED
April 7, 2001
HOW IT HAPPENED
We had gone out with Tim's parents to a formal (black tie) dinner / ballroom dance evening. Afterwards, we were alone and Tim said, "There's only one thing that would make tonight more perfect," and then he pulled out the ring. He had waited until just after midnight, so we had just passed the 6-months-of-dating mark.
