ANA MANN & TED MANN OCTOBER 9, 2006 Newlyweds for 785 days! ABOUT ANA I see crazy people. And I give them good meds. As a third-year Temple med student, I'm currently on my rotating through hospitals all around the city of brotherly love. In between stays in the lockdown ward and the OR, I play mommy to two kittens, Scout and Fuzzy. Whenever possible, I try to finagle massages out of the kind gentleman listed below, and when that’s not going to happen, I peruse the Crate and Barrel website. By the time we reach the big day, I will have completed many more rotations at Temple, but you never forget your first schizophrenic, borderline patient. I like to call him Teddy. ABOUT TED Height: 5' 11.999" Weight: 195 (projected for fall '04: 162) Hometown: Summit, NJ Currently reside in: West Philadelphia, near a Sunoco gas station. Interests: Water-skiing, jet-skiing, tubing, and banana-boating HOW WE MET During sophomore year at Penn, at a diner on South Street. When the tab arrived (the check, not the soft drink), Ted and Ana each chipped in what seemed like a fair share. Ted counted the loose change that Ana had deposited, and proceeded to call her a "cheap tipper." She responded by calling him [unmentionable]. WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED May 12, 2003 HOW IT HAPPENED Six years later, on a Monday morning, Ted and Ana returned to the diner after Ana's last med school exam. They downed a delightful meal of omelets and Freedom toast, after which the check arrived -- again. This time, things went better; no rabid cat scratching and few profanities. Ana flipped over the bill while Ted bent down to pick up a spoon that he'd dropped. Curiously, when the words "Ana, will you marry me" were read, the same unmentionable was uttered -- but this time in a slightly different tone. It was followed by a teary-eyed "yes." And then, with a properly bejeweled finger, Ana permanently soiled Ted’s Brooks Brothers shirt with her mascara. WHEN & WHERE October 9, 2006
Philadelphia, PA ABOUT THE BIG DAY Think trained chimpanzees riding on the backs of Border collies, rodeo style. Couple that with genetically-engineered passenger pigeons, brought back from extinction. As the chimps lasso one another, the pigeons take flight, moving into a formation that resembles Roseanne Barr. Yeah, our wedding will be nothing like that. But it’s a nice image, isn’t it?
