HOW WE MET
Mark and I met at Illinois State University in marching band. We started hanging out a lot after practice and shortly after we started dating. Mark and I have been dating for about three and a half years.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was my Golden Birthday which means I turned 23 on the 23rd. Mark took me out to dinner at Cliff Breakers and told me that he had desert back at home. He said that it was the best desert that I would ever have. I just figured that it was something chocolate that I had never had before. We got home after eating a delicious dinner and he told me to go sit on the couch. I went and sat on the couch and he brought out the desert. It was on a plate with a bowl over it and covered with towels. He got down on one knee (which didn't mean much to me since I was sitting on the couch, I just figured he was getting down to my level so I could see the desert) uncovered the desert and it was a small black box. He then opened it and told me that he loved me and wanted to be with me for the rest of his life and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes through my tears. We hugged and then he put the beautiful ring on my finger.
