Newlyweds for 144 days!
HOW WE MET
Ron and Ashley went to early elementary school together which later served as a segway for their meeting. Ron found Ashley one night as he browsed through an online community for his old school. He messaged her and they began to talk online. On a quiet Christmas evening, the two decided to meet for a movie and they hit it off. They continued to meet up night after night and on New Years Day Ron challenged Ashely to take a chance and start a relationship. Even though she was doubtful since she would be returning to Virginia to finish school, he was confident they could make things work. He made many gestures to prove to her that he would do what it takes to have a great relationship no matter what distance and before long they were in love and counting the days between meetings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ron came over early on Saturday morning (after having breakfast with Ashley's Mom to ask her hand in marraige) and woke Ashley with a kiss on the forehead. He told her how beautiful she was and how much he loved her. He told her to get up and get ready because he had planned a whole day for her. She spent some time getting ready and when she came out into the living room he had completely cleaned and scrubbed and vaccumed the apartment so she wouldn't have to and could just relax. Ron put on a CD of the couple's songs and they began to goof off like they do and play hangman. Soon, Ron stopped, looked at Ashley, and told her he just had to dance with her and pulled her to her feet. He held her close and looked in her eyes...and then began to sweat. He dropped the ring under the couch while she was oblivious to everything. He grabbed her hand and put it on his heart. It was pounding. He began to tell her how much he loved and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He told her he didn't want to wait another day to start making it happen. He fell to his knee (reached under the couch to grab the ring) and asked her to marry him. She cried, said yes, and the two were engaged!

ABOUT THE BIG DAY
Things are finally starting to come together now. We have the places, most of the vendors, and our minds still! We even have a few surprises planned. I keep reminding myself that somehow, on July 12, I will be getting married and it will all be done. Until then Ron will keep reminding me to breathe now and then!
