ABOUT CHARISSA
Originally from Vermont, Charissa is a graduate of University of New England with a B.S. in Marine Biology and in Environmental Science. She will be completing her A.S. in Veterinary Technology this spring and aspires to work with marine mammals. She spends her free time reading, listening to music, with good friends, and being outdoors as much as possible.
ABOUT PATRICK
A Virginia native, Patrick will be commissioning as a Pilot in the US Air Force in May 2008. He will be graduating with a BA in December '07 and an MBA in Aviation Management in May '08. He loves biking, reading, music, rock climbing, various outdoors activities, flying, and spending time with good friends.
HOW WE MET
While judging/volunteering at Odyssey of the Mind World Finals 2005, Patrick and his newly found friends (from Odyssey Alumni) introduced themselves to Charissa. From there they hung out every night of World Finals. Between Patrick's penchant for telling stories and Charissa's attentive ear it was a match made in heaven. After World Finals they kept in contact and had their first "official" date at Celia and Tony's wedding a month later. The rest is history...
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
We took a morning trip to the beach under the guise that Brian wanted to do some surfing before work and wanted to use the waterproof camera to get some pictures of him surfing. We walked up to an area of the beach that extended out into the ocean and had rocks that the waves were washing over. Brian went out to surf with the camera and we went to "check out" the rocks.
When we got out to the rocks, Patrick pulled out the box, opened it and got down on one knee. He said he knew how much I loved the beach, and couldn't think of a better place for a proposal!
