ERIN HANCOCK & JACKSON MANN JULY 12, 2008 Newlyweds for 48 days! ABOUT ERIN Erin grew up in Greenwich, NS with her parents and sister Andrea. She loved growing up in the gorgeous Annapolis Valley and spending her summers with great friends in Chester, NS. Erin came to Fredericton, NB for her undergraduate program in Leadership and after she finished that, she spent a year in Ontario (working and paying off those pesky student loans). She then came back to join Jackson in Fredericton and continues to pursue her Master's in Policy Studies. Her interests are in co-operatives and community development. She was fortunate to meet Jackson in 2003 while they were both studying at UNB. ABOUT JACKSON Jackson spent the first bit of his life in Bathurst, NB and then moved to Fredericton, NB where he stayed until his late teen years. He has great memories of summers in Bathurst on the beach. He then traveled across Canada and returned to Fredericton to pursue a Bio-Psych degree. His interest has always been in health and fitness. He is currently in his first year of his Chiropractic Doctoral program in Toronto where theywill be living for the next few years. HOW WE MET Jackson was joining his friend Nick at UNB"s Vagina Monologues theatrical production back in 2003 where Erin was performing. Jackson stayed after for a talk-back session with the performers and Erin introduced herself to him because she remembered seeing him in Psych class before. They chatted, started going out for tea after class and before they knew it, built a lasting relationship. WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED June 21, 2007 HOW IT HAPPENED Jackson planned a canoe trip and picnic and waited for Erin to get home from work. They headed out on the Saint John River with a picnic basket in tow and Erin selected the spot to stop for the picnic (on Cow Island). It just so happened that Jackson somehow knew that she would select this spot (under a beautiful tree) and he had planted a surprise there a couple days prior. After the picnic Jackson pointed out a bottle on the beach. After some convincing, Erin picked up the bottle and examined it. She found a string with a note attached inside that said "Marry Me." Because Jackson has never been fond of marriage (or so he said) she thought it had nothing to do with him and joked with him. He soon approached with a ring and waited for her reply. After catching her breath, she said a lively and excited "Yes!" WHEN & WHERE July 12, 2008
