ABOUT KRISTEN
Jim and I live in Virginia Beach, VA about 4 miles from the oceanfront. I work at the Candlewood Suites, Va Beach as the Director of Sales. I work for a larger parent company called Landmark Hotel Group. Our company represents the Crowne Plaza, Va Beach, as well as 2 hotels in the Outer Banks, NC. I am a 2002 graduate of Longwood University with a degree in English. I enjoy reading, hanging out with friends, watching Grey's Anatomy, dancing, and basically having fun. 
ABOUT JIM
Jim moved from Michigan to Virginia Beach in Oct. 2006. He is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Mincigan University and holds a degree in Communications. He works as an Assistant Store Manager at Kramer Tire and is also a United States Marine Corps Reservist.
HOW WE MET
Jim and I met February 25, 2006. My best friend Niccole introduced us through Kevin. Basically, Kevin came from Michigan to visit Niccole, and brought Jim and another friend with him to visit. Jim and I met and spent my birthday, February 26, together.
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jim graduated from Parris Island Boot Camp on Oct. 5, 2007 and had 10 days of leave. His sister's wedding was Oct. 13 in Michigan and we had made arrangements to attend. Jim went ring shopping with my best friend, Niccole, and wanted to ask me to marry him before we left for Michigan. Niccole advised him to wait until after Melissa's wedding. Jim proposed at about 1:00AM Oct. 14, 2007--He literally waited until the wedding and reception was over and we were back at the hotel and then proposed to me.

ABOUT THE BIG DAY
Short, Sweet, Simple, and Fun is the name of the game. From the beginning we decided that we wanted a stress-free wedding. We do not want to get so caught up in the planning of the wedding that we lose sight of the meaning of the wedding. We have rented a large beach house in Sandbridge and will have a beach ceremony followed by a fun-filled reception afterwards. We are planning for friends and family only and anticipate 70-100 attendees. We are still very much in the planning phase, so all information is tentative and subject to change!
