Newlyweds for 483 days!
ABOUT KRISTY
Kristy is a music major and will begin teaching in 2007. Kristy hopes the Lord will use her to influence the lives of her students during one of the most shaping times of their lives.
ABOUT SEAN
Sean is an extremely talented musician and writer. His most accomplished area of music is on the guitar, but Sean is also a well-accomplished singer and composer. He is also able to play the trumpet, the piano and almost anything else he picks up. Sean is studying philosophy. Sean has a great mind and intends to use it for the Lord's glory. Some of his goals include becoming a marriage and family counselor.
HOW WE MET
Sean and Kristy met the day before classes began at their University in the Fall of 2005. Sean was auditioning for a choir, of which Kristy was already a part. Kristy, noticing this handsome young man approaching the counter where the audition sheet was located, asked Sean if he was auditioning. He said he indeed was. After asking him if he was nervous about the audition, Sean simply said he didn't get nervous for this kind of thing. He also let her know that he had been a Messiah soloist at another school. Kristy was astounded by his confidence, though it did not come across as being conceited and that weekend told the music group she was traveling with about this strange conversation with a Sean Rose. Soon after his audition, Sean was accepted into the choir (to Kristy's delight) and that class provided opportune moments to get to know each other.
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was Spring Break of 2006, and Sean picked Kristy up in Fort Wayne, IN where she was shopping for wedding dresses with her mother and sisters. (Sean and Kristy had spoken with Kristy's parents the weekend before about their intentions to marry one another). After spending time with Kristy's family, Kristy and Sean went to spend time with Sean's family. On the way, Sean mentioned that he had forgotten to sign out of his time card. Sean worked during school breaks cleaning at his home church. He asked if Kristy would mind stopping at the church so that he could clock out. Kristy didn't mind, but when asked if she would enjoy playing a round of ping-pong in the youth room while there, Kristy said she was a bit tired and would rather do that at another time. When entering the church, Sean walked to the left. Knowing his time card was to the right, Kristy asked what Sean was doing. He said he had something to show her. This seemed normal coming from Sean, so Kristy suspected nothing. Sean opened the door to the little chapel to reveal rose petals on the floor and small candles everywhere. Kristy, in her cunning manner said, "Oh, do they always keep it like this?" Sean said, "No, no they don't." Then, she finally figured out what was happening. He picked up his guitar, sang a song he wrote for Kristy, then got down on one knee and proposed. Kristy quickly said "yes!" After leaving the chapel area, a few of Sean's friends and relatives rushed down the stairs, playing music and they all celebrated with sparkling grape juice!
