ABOUT MELISSA
Melissa graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2004 and currently works at Charleston Southern University as a Residence Life Coordinator. She will graduate with her Master of Business Administration in December 2008. She plans to pursue a career in Accounting and become a ceritifed Public Accountant.
ABOUT JONATHAN
Jonathan is the Associate Pastor to students at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He will graduate from Charleston Southern University with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion in December 2008. He plans to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he will obtain a Master of Divinity.
HOW WE MET
Jonathan and Melissa met in August of 2006 on the campus of Charleston Southern University during Residence Life training. Jonathan was hired as a Resident Assistant and Melissa was in charge of one of the training sessions Jonathan attended. As a Resident Assistant, one of the tasks assigned was to sit duty a certain night of the week. It just so happened that Jonathan picked Melissa's night of duty. As a Residence Life Coordinator, Melissa had to go by each of the Resident Assistant's rooms to make sure they were sitting duty. Every Monday night Melissa would go by and check to see if Jonathan was sitting duty. Most would say the rest is history.
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jonathan had been talking for several weeks about making a photo album of all the places that they attended on a regular basis. He had told Melissa that he was planning on making it as a Valentine's Day gift.
On Valentine's Day, Melissa was told that the album was not completed. The following night, Jonathan informed Melissa that he had completed the album and asked if she would like to see. As they looked through the album together, Jonathan would read the caption under each picture. Each picture would have specifics underneath of what the particular place meant to the couple. The last picture in the album was the sofa in Jonathan's apartment. The caption underneath read, "This is where I proposed." After Melissa read the caption, Jonathan grabbed a ring box from under the sofa, dropped to one knee, and asked Melissa to marry him. After the shock left her, she accepted!
