My Proposal Story
Our Engagement Story It was February 27, 2009. Pat and I were planning on going to a hockey game with two of my girlfriends. We had a homemade spaghetti dinner before picking up the girls for the game. It was a cold night so Patrick dropped us off at the door. We went in and bought some hot chocolate for the game. I saw Patrick come in the arena while I was standing in the concession line, but then couldn’t find him again. Lindsay suggested that we go find our seats and maybe he was there. We got to our seats and no Patrick. He wasn’t answering his phone, so we just figured he went to the bathroom and he will be joining us shortly. In the middle of the first period, a guy came down and told Patrick he is the “Fan of the Game”! Wow, that’s neat I thought. He got his picture taken and I was watching him while across the area the mascot was writing “Will You Marry Me?” on the glass. I looked back at the game , noticed the writing, and looked back at Patrick, who was down on one knee. Of course, I said yes! The audience cheered! It was such a magical moment! The staff photographer was there to catch the whole thing.
