My Proposal Story
Jeff proposed at 14,246 feet. We love hiking, camping and being outdoors, so it didn't set off any alarms when he asked if I wanted to go camping for the weekend at Bristlecone State Park. We acclimated to the altitude the first day, then set out to summit my first 14,000+ foot peak the next. It was a long trek to the top (about 5 hours), but we made it with each other's help. We feasted on a backpackers lunch of peanut butter and banana sandwiches as we celebrated our success. Then, as we were enjoying the view from the peak, he got down on his knees on the rocky mountain top and held out the ring: "I want to spend the rest of my life with you - will you marry me?" Of course I said yes, and then practically floated on air the entire hike back.
