My Proposal Story
Devin proposed on our one year anniversary, June 14, 2010. I had been really excited to give him his present, tickets to see the portland sea dogs, so I gave them to him first thing in the morning. He said he wanted to give me my present later on. So we had a leisurely morning, took a trip to bar harbor, went to acadia national park, did some sight-seeing,had lunch, and came back home. I made him Chicken Parmesean, which was the first meal I had ever made for him, and we had a wonderful candle-lit dinner. After dinner it was really hot in our kitchen so we went out onto the deck, to our surprise it was raining so we went back inside. We stood by the door hugging for a moment. Devin told me how much he loved me and recited a small poem, then got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I started to cry and I believe I asked him "Really?" before I said "Yes!!" We immediately went over to my moms to show her the ring, and she had known before I did :)
