My Proposal Story
We went to high school together, so we knew of each other. He was a year younger than me and was in the same grade as my brother. I didn't know it at the time, but he asked my brother about me several times. My brother always told him I had a boyfriend. That was in 1986. In April 2010 I read my horoscope and it said I would meet someone very special on my birthday. I thought, yea, right! On April 23rd some friends of my son's came to visit. I hadn't met them before. Normally when my kids have friends over, I will ask who their parents are because I have lived here my whole life and probably know them or of them. Austin, my now step-son, told me who his parent were. I told him I remembered his dad from school, but he probably wouldn't remember me. He told me his parents were going through a divorce. The next day was my birthday, April 24th. It was terrible weather that morning. I got up and my phone started blowing up with texts from my now husband. He came over to my house that night to hang out with me and my brother. On my birthday, on our first date, within 20 minutes. Joe told me he was going to marry me. I laughed and told him he sure was cocky and asked just when he intended to do this. He said September 12th. I didn't really take him seriously until a couple of weeks later I received a formal proposal with him on his knees, ring and all. And guest what, we got married on Sept. 12th. Don't you just love a man who know what he wants!
