Our Pink & Blue Chapel "I Do!"
Wedding date: 6/13/2009
Wedding location:  Florida
Our reception was held in the church banquet hall, a short walk from the chapel. Although we had rain immediately after the ceremony, the sun came out during the reception and it became a lovely Florida day.

My bouquet consisted of blue hydrangeas, pink roses, blush roses (to match my wedding dress), and ivory roses. The stems were tied using a blush ribbon and the detatchable straps from my wedding dress as a wrapping. The straps were beaded, which made gripping the bouquet easier. The arrangement was made by Prange's Florist.

The groom wore a lightweight traditional black tuxedo with a geometric checked silver vest and solid silver tie. The boutonniere matched the bride's pink and blue bouquet.

I am extremely proud that my dad, a retired U.S. Air Force pilot and veteran, walked me down the aisle in his uniform. The beautiful wedding chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church is surrounded by a natural area. The first time we saw it, we knew this was where we wanted to exchange vows.

My grandmother and grandfather were married in 1929. 80 years later for our 2009 wedding, my grandmother's wedding band was restored, resized, and engraved to prepare it for another lifetime of use.

The beautiful bridesmaids wore blue, strapless, cocktail length dresses. They carried blue hydrangea and ivory rose bouquets. The groomsmen's boutonnieres were two ivory roses with greenery.

Instead of favors, we donated to Heifer International in honor of our wedding guests. We left a card explaining our donation at each seat. Our hexagonally shaped cake with ivory buttercream frosting was made by Sparkman's Bridal Service. Flowers were added by Prange's Florist. Each layer was a different flavor, with German chocolate on the bottom, French vanilla next, and strawberry on top. We displayed engagement pictures at the guest book table, and had some Florida flair with a pink flamingo pen! The reception included a childrens' table with art activities. The supplies were construction paper, coloring books, crayons, markers, safety scissors, glue, and lots of stickers. The kids loved it!
