TERM The Knot Dinner and a Movie Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") begins August 27, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. ET and ends February 7, 2003 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The Sweepstakes is sponsored by The Knot, Inc., 462 Broadway, 6th floor, New York, NY 10013. ELIGIBILITY All legal U.S. residents who are 18 years or older may participate in this Sweepstakes. The Knot, Inc. employees and members of their immediate families and/or their households and the participating promotional companies, their subsidiaries, and advertising agencies are NOT ELIGIBLE. This Sweepstakes is void wherever prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. THE PRIZES One First Place Winner will receive a DVD/TV Player, 5 Romantic DVDs (to be selected by The Knot, Inc. at their discretion), 4 CorningWare products (a 2-Quart FRENCH WHITE® Round Dish, a 9" x 13" FRENCH WHITE® Baking Dish, an 8" FRENCH WHITE® Square Baking Dish, and a 4-quart FRENCH WHITE® Oval Roaster) and the cookbook Temptations: Igniting the Pleasure and Power of Aphrodisiacs by Ellen and Michael Albertson. Two Second Place Winners will receive the 4 CorningWare products listed above and the cookbook Temptations: Igniting the Pleasure and Power of Aphrodisiacs. The First Place Winner and the two Second Place Winners are collectively the "Prize Winners". Prizes are not transferable. Total approximate retail value of the First Place Prize: $1,200 Total approximate retail value of a Second Place Prize: $100 HOW TO PARTICIPATE You are automatically entered into the Sweepstakes when you access the entry screen at www.theknot.com and fully complete and transmit the on-screen entry form before 11:59 p.m. PT on February 7, 2003. One entry per person. Additional attempts made by the same individual to enter by using multiple email addresses or otherwise will be disqualified. Internet entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. ŚAuthorized account holderą is defined as the person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. You may also enter the Sweepstakes by legibly hand-printing your complete name and address on a 3" x 5" postcard (postcards ONLY please) and mailing your entry to: The Knot Dinner and a Movie Sweepstakes, 462 Broadway, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10013. Limit one entry per household. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by January 24, 2003 and received by February 1, 2003. The Knot, Inc. is not responsible for transmission and/or computer error or mail entries that are late, lost, misdirected, or have insufficient postage. The Knot, Inc. reserves the right to modify the scheduling of the contest without prior notice. ODDS OF WINNING/SELECTION PROCESS Odds of winning will be determined by the actual number of entries received. NOTIFICATION Prize Winners will be notified via email and/or U.S. mail on or about February 14, 2003. Prize Winners do not need to be online at time of notification. The Prize Winners will be selected from all eligible entries (both email and U.S. mail) by a computerized random number generator. CONDITIONS The Knot, Inc. and the participating promotional companies are not in any way liable for damage, loss, or injury resulting from computer malfunctions, misdirected or incomplete entries, or acceptance and use of the prize. Prize Winners assume liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this sweepstakes or the use or misuse of any prizes. The Knot, Inc. reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this sweepstakes should virus, bugs, or other causes beyond the control of sponsor corrupt the administration, security, or proper play of the sweepstakes. Prize Winners may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release that must be completed and returned within 21 days of notification, or an alternate winner will be selected. Taxes and additional shipping, handling, and delivery fees in excess of the prize amount, if any, are the sole responsibility of the Prize Winners. Prize Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations, including, without limitation, the payment of all applicable taxes.
