Los Cabos is a large geographic area.  There are hotels in the historic city of San Jose del Cabo (1 hour drive to the ceremony), along the Sea of Cortez cooridor (45 minute drive), the Pacific Ocean side (20 minute drive) or in Cabo San Lucas itself (a 5 minute drive).  The wedding party will be staying at the Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos which is on El Médano Beach.  We suggest you consider hotels along this beach as it is beautiful as well as conveniently located to the ceremony, the marina, and the Cabo San Lucas downtown area.  If you are interested in a less expensive option that is not along the beach front, we have heard good reviews of the Fairfield Inn Los Cabos.  Feel free to contact us for more specific hotel recommendations.

Vestimenta ~ Attire

Cabo San Lucas has a relaxed, resort atmosphere.  Be sure to bring your swimsuit, sunscreen and camera.  Feburary is typically the best month to visit Cabo, as the weather is sunny and slightly breezy during the day and a bit cool in the evenings.  The wedding ceremony itself will be on the beach with the dress code being "beach elegant" - no flip flops or shorts, please.

Que hacer ~ Things to do in the area

Below are a few of the fun activities to explore while in Cabo!

  • Jet skiing, kayaking, and parasailing
  • Swimming with the dolphins, swimming in your hotel pool or the ocean
  • Walking along the beach or exploring downtown Cabo (make sure to go to the tortilla factory!)
  • Sitting by the pool or beach and reading a book or taking a nap
  • Glass bottom boat rides or whale watching trips to see El Arco
  • Horseback rides or ATV rides in the desert
  • Spa treatments after all of the above!

Please feel free to email Mom and Dad for any questions: [email protected] or [email protected].

Sugerencias ~ Restaurant suggestions

Below are some of Mom's (Pam Goossen's) favorite Cabo restaurants:

Hacienda Cocina y Cantina
This is the restaurant where we are having our wedding celebration.  Delicious dinners, save room for a dessert churro with chocolate and carmel sauce. *Need reservations

La Golondrina Restaurant
Sit outside under lighted trees on a patio, very delicious dinners, huge portions (too much for Megan!). *Need reservations

Salvatore's Italian Restaurant
We discovered this quant little restaurant last year.  The portions were really large, you may want to share along with a salad and enjoy a wonderful tiramisu for dessert. *Need reservations

Romeo y Julieta's Italian Restaurant
We have enjoyed dining here for years. They make great flat bread in their brick oven and offer Caesar salads mixed at your table.

Pancho's Restaurant
The name says it all, really great Mexican food.  We eat here every year and consider it a family favorite.

Maro's Shrimp House
Delicious shrimp prepared many ways as well as steak.  Very casual, very busy and great prices.

Enjoy a cheap lunch of tacos with delicious salsas.  They offer free internet and are a short walk from our resort Pueblo Bonito Blanco.

The Office
Tables and chairs are on the beach, just a short walk down the beach from Pueblo Bonito Blanco.
Depending on the day of the week, they have a Mexican party night with fireworks. *Need reservations

The Medano Beach Club
Great Mexican breakfast.  Very casual with tables and chair on the sand located just down the beach from Pueblo Bonito Blanco.

Cabo Rey Dinner Cruise
We (Pam and Steve) went last year and had a wonderful evening, saw a couple of whales, had a very delicious dinner, and enjoyed great entertainment. * Need reservations
