“We loved the venue’s antique-style décor, from the wallpaper to the four-poster beds and the old portraiture on the walls. Even the fountain in the rose garden fit our theme perfectly,” Racquel says.

The vintage ceremony programs were designed by one of the bridesmaids, who created a striped border in the couple’s color palette and added their silhouettes. The result was exactly what they were looking for.

Racquel & Elvin in Taneytown, MD

A hometown wedding was especially important for Racquel Johnson (30 and a grad student), whose fiance, Elvin Fortuna (28 and a captain in the US Army), was deployed in Afghanistan for the majority of the planning. Shortly before he shipped out, the couple found Antrim 1844—the perfect spot for the chic French-country-inspired wedding they envisioned. They took decor inspiration from Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette and completed the look with summery pastels such as mint, seafoam and salmon.
