The warm colors of the season and the mountain view inspired the bouquets. Rich jewel-toned roses differentiated the bride's bouquet from the bridesmaids' purple blooms.

To capture the overall rustic-vintage look, Kara's bridesmaids wore chocolate-colored beach dresses by J Crew and accessorized with their own shoes. The guys wore dark suits, matching Drew's navy pinstripe suit. The officiant doubled as a groomsman and sported dark jeans and vintage cowboy boots.

Multicolored patterned paper covered the guest programs that Kara made herself. She sewed the covers to white paper using colored thread.

Guests' names were stamped onto simple, rectangular cards, which were attached to patterned paper with miniature clothes pins. Kara snagged the idea from someone else's wedding blog.

The table numbers were also a DIY project; the couple hand-painted recycled pieces of pine and stood them up on various doilies collected over the years by the bride's family.

Even though they never spoke, Drew scored big points with Kara at a University of Michigan football game. Drew and Kara sat next to each other with a group of friends, and though they were never properly introduced, they did share a solid high-five after a Wolverine touchdown.
