The couple was originally supposed to get married outdoors but because of the torrential downpour right before, the wedding was moved inside the tent. The aisle was lushly carpeted with orchid petals, the centerpiece consisted of white hydrangeas, dusty miller and lavender sea urchin shells to complement the mother-of-pearl tea light holders.

The couple married at Lanikuhonua, which means: Where Heaven Meets the Earth. It was an idyllic, private, ocean-front estate nestled within the Ko Olina resort on O’ahu. The couple wed under a bamboo arch filled with curly willow branches and white dendrobium orchid stems.

Teresa & John in Kapolei, Hawaii

Teresa and John met through mutual friends and dated for a year and a half before getting engaged. On a beautiful day in New York City, the couple took a walk to Central Park and sat on top of a big rock just talking and people-watching. John told Teresa how happy he was to be with her and suddenly he stood up, got down on one knee and said "but what would make me even happier is… if you’d become my wife.” He pulled out the ring from his jacket pocket…and proposed.

The Bride Teresa Song, 36, Producer at Katie
The Groom John Kim, 37, Architect, Partner at KIMOY Studios
The Date March 9

Teresa's parents live in Korea and John's family is from Fairfax, Virginia, so they thought Hawaii would be a great midway point for everyone. They had always talked about getting married on a beach so when they saw Lanikuhonua, they knew they had found the perfect wedding venue. It was beautiful, elegant and, most importantly, private for their special day.
