“My overall wedding theme was sort of A Midsummer Night’s Dream -- I wanted everything to be something found in the garden,” Shelly states. She incorporated birds, feathers, nests, and moss into all of the decorations and chose a palette the color of a sunset (lots of apricot, coral, blush pink, and gold).

A lemonade stand with regular and pink lemonade was set up at the end of dance floor so that guests didn’t need to stray too far from the action to get a drink.

It was their mutual love of heavy metal that brought Shelly and Faulkner together when a friend threw a Metallica party. The two instantly hit it off but started slowly as just friends. Eventually they started dating. The Bride Shelly Harris, 28, an art director The Groom Faulkner Turner, 29, an auto finance account manager The Date April 18 Eight months after their first date, at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, Faulkner got down on one knee and with tears in his eyes asked Shelly to marry him. “I burst out crying happily,” says Shelly, “and instantly said yes.”
