Michelle’s inspiration for her wedding cake came from a picture she saw in a bridal magazine. The cake had four layers, three which were iced in white buttercream frosting with the third layer, the biggest, iced in pink buttercream. Three of the layers were trimmed with lace made of fondant and one layer was decorated with a sugar flower.

From looking at bridal bouquets Michelle knew that she wanted to have peonies for her bridal bouquet. Since the bride’s wedding gown didn’t have a lot of sparkle elements she opted to add sparkle to her look with her accessories. The bride added a rhinestone brooch to her vanilla colored open toe Badgley Mischka heels and wore a sash with an organza peony flower that had rhinestones and pearls in the center for the right amount of sparkle.

The groom’s last name, Fitzsimmons, was the inspiration for the wedding favors, Fitz’s Root beer bottles that doubled as escort cards. They continued the Fitz’s theme by offering a variety of Fitz’s beverages at the bar.

Michelle & Sean in St. Louis, MO

Michelle and Sean met in college while they were both attending Southeast Missouri State University. After 4 ½ years of dating, Michelle found herself taking part in a scavenger hunt which led her to the biggest surprise, a proposal. Sean proposed with a card that he had purchased four years earlier when he knew that Michelle was the one

When they Michelle first started planning her wedding there were four elements that were immediately on the list: pink flowers, green flowers, lace details and grey tuxes. With the addition of Navy blue to the color palette and flowers such as peonies and ranunculus’s she was able to create a modern yet romantic wedding.
