Carey is a self-described avid birder, so she wanted bird accents throughout the day. Swallow silhouettes were included on the stationery, and nests full of flowers served as centerpieces during the cocktail hour.

Carey’s bridesmaids all wore floor-length, one-shoulder dresses in a lavender chiffon fabric. They carried bouquets of lavender and coral roses.

“I wanted a simple, classic, soft look that would suit a garden wedding,” Carey says. This silk, A-line Nicole Miller gown gave her that classic bridal look.

The bride says that instead of having kids in the wedding, they had their “exceptionally charming and handsome dog, Stan” step in as the ring bearer.
