For the ceremony, Bindu chose designer Sunit Varma. "I wanted something that wasn’t a traditional red lengha or sari, instead I wanted something with a lot of color," Bindu said. Her lengha was silk with metallic threading and encrusted with colored Swarovski crystals. She accessorized with colored bangles and Jimmy Choo metallic shoes.

Bindu & Vishal in Pittsburgh, PA
The couple met on Aug 8, 2008 on a blind date in New York City. They were set up by two of their best friends who knew one other. Exactly one year later, Vishal asked Bindu to marry him.

The ceremony was largely Indian, but they incorporated Western traditions such as Bindu's father walking her down the aisle and the couple writing their own vows. The couple settled on having their wedding in Bindu's hometown of Pittsburgh.
