The couple kept the decor simple with white linens and gold chairs, while the centerpieces provided bright bursts of color. The chandeliers hanging above the guests immersed them in candlelight, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered amazing views of the locale.

Alex and John's ceremony took place in a grassy area behind the Yacht Club's pool, which overlooks the inlet for a small marina near the Intercoastal Waterway. A gorgeous trellis with blooms in ivory, champagne, and white hues served as the altar.

Alex and John had been dating close to three years when John went to Texas to celebrate Alex's birthday and visit some of her family in Austin. "I joked that those weren't my initials," recalls Alex, "and John said that they will be, got down on one knee, and pulled out an even smaller box!" After his proposal, the couple started planning a destination wedding on Figure Eight Island.
