Amanda and Alex's cake was four tiers, and consisted of white chocolate cake with lemon cream cheese filling and a white chocolate cake layer with orange peach schnapps mousse. It also had fresh dahlias and roses.

“We really wanted to incorporate Alex’s heritage into our ceremony and reception and make his family feel comfortable,” says Amanda. “Alex is Chinese, and in his culture red is a very important color -- it brings good luck. So, our primary color was red.” The Bride Amanda VanderSys, 26 The Groom Alex Soh, 26 The Date August 7 This color of good fortune turned up everywhere, from the invites to the flowers and favors. It even made a strong statement at their ceremony spot.
