As soon as the couple decided on a snowy city for their wedding, Ashley picked out a pair of aqua-colored Uggs to wear under her gown.

Ashley and Patrick said their vows in the Great Room of the Bentwood Inn between the piano and the fireplace. Silver pillar candles and aqua model airplanes were scattered on the piano and the mantel for extra decor.

A table displayed luggage tags, each with one letter, spelling out “thank-you.” Next to the letter, the couple wrote the corresponding aviation phonetic alphabet word in glittery letters.

Even the champagne was blue thanks to splashes of Curaçao.

Instead of a bouquet, Ashley had her “flight attendant” carry an aqua clutch -- packed with Patrick’s ring, lip balm, tissues, and other necessary items!

Ashley kept her hair straight (its natural texture) for the wedding and added an ivory and aqua hairpiece instead of a veil.

Ashley and Patrick threw a hot chocolate social instead of a rehearsal dinner. The guests left with coffee mugs engraved with the couple’s names, the wedding date, and an airplane graphic.

An aviation theme in cool blue seemed to make sense for the wedding of Ashley and Patrick, who had been set up by mutual friends more than five years earlier. Aqua is Ashley’s favorite color, and Patrick has been flying since he was 15 years old.
