Angela’s veil was custom-made. But on the day of the wedding, after her hair was all finished, the veil didn’t quite fit on Angela’s head. Luckily, one of her bridesmaids was able to modify it and attach it with vintage tulip pins.

Angela’s all-white, cascading bouquet of phalaenopsis and cattleya orchids, gardenias, anthurium, and anemones was wrapped in gray velvet ribbon.

The Marvimon has a large screen in the back of the loft space, so before dinner, guests watched a photo montage of Angela and Michael.

Angela asked a matron of honor’s brother, who’s an artist, to make a painting for them to hang over the bar. He modeled it after the couple’s engagement announcement photo and gave it to them as a wedding gift.

Angela and Michael’s two-tiered cake was covered with white frosting and decorated with fresh flowers. Pink piping added a vintage look to the tiers. The couple also ordered a selection of cupcakes frosted with strawberry and chocolate.

Angela first spotted Michael on stage when she went to see her roommate perform in a play. Mutual friends set them up, and their first date came soon after -- on Valentine’s Day. The Bride Angela Carper, 29, designer The Groom Michael Lanahan, 31, actor The Date October 10 After six years of dating -- one-and-a-half of them long-distance -- Michael and Angela got a place together. In early July of that year, they took a weekend getaway to Malibu and stayed at the same hotel where they’d celebrated their two-year anniversary. They took a walk on the beach before dinner, and on the way back, Michael proposed. Originally the couple had wanted an intimate wedding at an Irish castle, but money and travel were big issues for a lot of their guests. Instead, they decided on an intimate loft wedding in Los Angeles.
