Ashley accessorized her wedding day attire with a gorgeous pair of Nine West heels.

Ashley’s gorgeous champagne-colored, mermaid-style gown by Anjolique had layers of tulle around the bottom and buttons down the back. To personalize her ensemble she wore her grandmother’s veil from 50 years prior. Jeremy looked sharp in his dark chocolate brown, pin-striped suit from Banana Republic.

Ashley carried a larger version of the bridesmaid bouquets, except that hers was ivory with green accents. Her florist also wrapped a champagne-colored ribbon around her bouquet to coordinate with her gown.

To complement the chocolate brown, tea-length, Watters and Watters bridesmaid dresses, Ashley found the perfect color of green ribbon at a fabric store to tie around each maid’s waist. The ceremony was a family affair. Ashley's and Jeremy’s families lit candles in memory of loved ones who had passed. And even their pug Beau made an appearance down the aisle with the flower girls.

Ashley and Jeremy’s guests formed a circle around them as they said their vows outdoors underneath the tall oak trees. The main aisle was marked with shepherd’s hooks tied with wheat, berries, and ribbon. And as each bridesmaid walked down the aisle, she placed a lantern on one of the hooks -- one of Ashley’s favorite parts of the ceremony.

Ashley and Jeremy knew they wanted to have an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. The John Oliver Michael House fit the bill perfectly with plenty of outdoor space and a barn replica for their reception.

Guests danced the night away as a DJ played music throughout the cocktail hour and reception. But before the dance floor was opened up to everyone, Ashley and Jeremy had their first dance to Ryan Adams’ “When the Stars Go Blue.”

“We always wanted cupcakes for our wedding cake,” Ashley says. Jeremy’s mother baked over 200 cupcakes (flavored strawberry, red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, and confetti), and the couple displayed them on tiered dessert stands accented with hanging crystals.

A candy bar was set up for all the guests to enjoy treats on their way home. Ashley and Jeremy included their favorite candies and placed them in glass jars. As they were driving home after dinner and the ballet, Jeremy turned to his girlfriend Ashley and told her he had bad news: Bethesda Elementary Park -- where he’d first told Ashley he loved her -- would be torn down, and they should take one last look.
