To complement the bright pink-and-red color scheme, the bride carried Yves Piaget roses and deep burgundy spray roses with contrasting hot-pink mini carnations and gloriosa lilies. A dark red ribbon and pearl accent accessorized the bouquet.

Carrie and Nick said their vows in the bride's parents' backyard with the setting sun behind them. The couple stood before a gazebo covered in lush garlands, flowers and lots of pink and red ribbon. Vases filled with roses and carnations hung from shepherd's hooks along the stone walkway.

For a little bling on the reception tables, the florist filled various shaped vases with pink glass pebbles to hold up loosely wrapped pink and red gerbera daisies.

Carrie and Nick left the celebration through a tunnel of glowing sparklers. "It was very cool, and some of my favorite pictures from the wedding are of that scene," says Carrie.

It took some time for Carrie to realize her feelings for Nick. Nick, on the other hand, knew right away. The two met the summer before Carrie’s junior year at CU Boulder. They went on a single date, but Carrie wasn’t ready for a relationship. Still, the two became good friends and Nick remained patient and persistent. They dated for a year-and-a-half before Nick proposed. One morning he went downstairs for orange juice, but came back with three dozen roses and a ring instead. Carrie said “Yes!” without even looking at the ring. “Don’t you want to see it to make sure it’s not a Fruit Loop or something?” asked Nick. “I was so happy, I couldn’t have cared less if there had been a Fruit Loop in the box,” says Carrie.
