Christina wore an ivory, strapless, chiffon and lace gown with a slight sweetheart neckline and Empire waist by Ashleigh Claire. For the ceremony, she wore white, wedge flip-flops. Kathleen donned ivory, summer-weight wool slacks from Club Monaco and an ivory, sleeveless, silk shantung top from Talbots.

The five bridesmaids wore a dark red, silk shantung dress or a coordinating tie and khakis. Each maid chose her own style.

Christina and Kathleen carried vibrant bouquets of dahlias, roses, ranunculus, mango calla lilies, gerbera daisies, and hypericum berries.

At their chairs, guests found a ceremony program -- all the stationery was handmade by Christina -- and a pen engraved with the couple's names and wedding date. During the ceremony, guests used their new pen to write the newlyweds a blessing, which was then incorporated into the wedding ceremony.

As each guest arrived, they received a dahlia stem with a blessing card. During the ceremony, they were asked to write a blessing for the couple on the card. They were then asked to come up and place their flower and blessing into one of the poles of the huppah.

Kathleen and Christina exchanged vows that they wrote themselves. After the vows, a guitarist played while guests added a dahlia to one of the poles of the huppah.

Once the couple had shared their first dance together, guests enjoyed a fireworks display.

The couple and their guests danced the night away under the stars and sparkling lights until the last dance, which was, fittingly, “The Best Is Yet to Come,” by Frank Sinatra.

Christina and Kathleen rented three large tents and arranged them into a U-shape with the dance floor in the middle. White twinkle lights were strung around the interior of each tent and over the dance floor, while red and orange paper lanterns in varying sizes hung from the lights on the perimeter of the dance floor.

The tables were covered with ivory linens and topped with three small arrangements of dahlias in red, burgundy, orange, and gold. Hurricane lamps with ivory pillar candles surrounded by red rose petals sat in the very middle of the tables.

Each place setting had a terra cotta napkin at its center, folded pocket-style to hold the menu cards. A sprig of rosemary tied with orange ribbon was placed at the base of the napkin.

The three-tiered, triangle-shaped wedding cake was frosted with white buttercream dots. The couple's monogram and fresh flowers finished the look.

One evening, while at Neighbors on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Christina and Kathleen noticed each other from across the dance floor. After introducing themselves to one another, they decided to dance. They exchanged numbers that night and went on their first date shortly after. And as Christina puts it, “Despite our protests, we fell. Hard.” The Bride Christina Walker, 28, regional sales manager The Bride Kathleen Malone, 39, medical assistant and nursing student The Date August 23 Christina's parents and grandparents were married on property that has been in their family for generations. So when it came to choosing a spot for their wedding, it was only fitting that Christina and Kathleen exchange vows in a place that held so much significance.
